*Virus #1 – “Here You Have” Virus*
This virus sends an email with a link to a PDF file that appears harmless. However, if you click on the link, it takes you somewhere entirely different and attempts to run an infected screen saver file. This will then start a program that attempts to delete critical windows that will render your machine useless. This is a destructive virus that will erase as much data from your machine as it can before the computer shuts itself down.

Virus #2 – Adobe PDF Exploit Virus
This virus attaches an infected PDF file to an email and explains that it’s extremely important that you open it. This is a real PDF file that will try to run in Adobe Acrobat Reader so it appears to be harmless. Once the program launches, however, it uses an exploit within the file to infect your system. This will then allow an attacker direct access to your system and all of your files.

Apparently NASA was hit with this virus today as was Fed Ex and a bunch of smaller companies.

As always, don't click on anything in email that looks suspicious! As far as I know, the link that contained Virus #1 no longer works but they could always rehost the file and send out more emails with the new location. As far as virus #2, Adobe hasn't released an update yet to fix the exploit. As soon as they do though make sure you update your Adobe Reader!

Two medical students were walking along the street when they saw an old man walking with his legs spread apart. He was stiff-legged and walking slowly.

One student said to his friend: "I'm sure that poor old man has Peltry Syndrome. Those people walk just like that."

The other student says: "No, I don't think so. The old man surely has Zovit z ki Syndrome. He walks slowly and his legs are apart, just as we learned in class."

Since they couldn't agree they decided to ask the old man. They approached him and one of the students said to him, "We're medical students and couldn't help but notice the way you walk, but we couldn't agree on the syndrome you might have. Could you tell us what it is?"

The old man said, "I'll tell you, but first you tell me what you two fine medical students think." The first student said, "I think it's Peltry Syndrome." The old man said, "You thought - but you are wrong."

GAINESVILLE — The pastor of a Gainesville church said late this afternoon that he is canceling plans to burn copies of the Quran on Saturday.

In return, Dove World Outreach Center Pastor Terry Jones said, he's been assured that the controversial Islamic center planned near Ground Zero in New York City will be moved elsewhere.

It could not immediately be confirmed that the New York religious center was indeed being relocated.

But Jones said he receives those assurances indirectly through Imam Muhammad Musri, president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida, who has met with him in the past couple of days seeking to defuse the situation.

Earlier today, Musri had said Jones indirectly linked his church's plans to burn copies of the Quran Saturday with the mosque plans during a meeting he had with Musri Wednesday. Musri said Jones indicated that stopping plans for the mosque would also stop his intention of burning copies of the sacred Islamic text.

"He has mentioned that if the project is put on hold that he would not move forward," Musri said.

Musri, who said he believes the proposed New York mosque project should be moved away from Ground Zero, said he has been in contact with New York Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's office and plans to offer Jones the opportunity to meet with Rauf if he cancels the church's plans to burn the Quran.

Musri told reporters of Jones' sentiments this afternoon after he showed up at the Gainesville church again for an unscheduled meeting with the pastor, who has been at the center of international controversy since he declared he and the 50 members of his church planned the Quran burning in commemoration of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Church leaders throughout the week have said that Jones and his members were still praying about whether they would go through with the burning. There were rumors outside the church earlier that Jones would not cancel the plans until he received a call directly from President Obama, but Dove Outreach Assistant Pastor Warren Sapp neither confirmed or denied the rumors this afternoon.

"What I can say is that we are constantly rethinking. We're constantly in prayer, and if God tells us not to do it, then we won't do it," he said.

Sapp said Jones would be speaking to the media sometime this afternoon but did not specify a time.

Musri and a member of his mosque were still waiting outside the church to meet with Jones this afternoon.

Musri brought with him what he called a gift -- a full-page ad his mosque took out in the Orlando Sentinel newspaper in 2004 condemning the Sept. 11 attacks.

"I want to show him that we in the Islamic community have been against these acts of terrorism long before this came up," Musri said.

Musri said that in his prior conversation with Jones, he pointed out the similarities in their faiths and asked him what Jesus would do if he were the pastor.

His one visit was one of several to the church today. About half of those who showed up were turned away, including a group of three pastors representing 48 Baptist churches in the Gainesville area.

They had wanted to tell him that burning the Quran would endanger not just the lives of soldiers abroad, but also of Christian missionaries in the Muslim world.

"I think it's a shame the church is getting so much attention," said Bob Casey, a former state representative and a member of the Santa Fe River Baptist Association. "Not only is there the potential danger, but thousands of local, county, state and federal dollars are now being spent on this."

This morning, the pastor did accept a visit from FBI officials, who left without comment just before noon.

Sapp confirmed the visitors were from the FBI but did not give other details.

Ok, time has come to upgrade the vehicle to something more versatile than my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Decided to go with a truck, 4 doors of course, and I need it be 3/4 ton for the hauling I do. With trailers going to a gun shows loaded with stuff, to goose-neck trailers hauling 4 to 5 thousand pounds of ammo cans from Ft. Polk, you see why I need an upgrade. I've narrowed it down to either Ford or Chevy/GMC. Dodges are great, but I just don't care to own one.

What do you think will be the best for fuel - it will be my daily to and from work vehicle - and ease of towing. I've heard negative comments about the Chevys and negatives about the 08 and 09 Fords.

So what do you have to say? Let's hear it.

My brother decided to take his son scouting/4-wheeler riding today at Red River WMA on the first day he's had off work in 2 weeks.

Some low-life, POS, scum-of-the-earth, MFer rewarded him by stealing the ATV loading ramp out of the back of his truck. At the very end of a dead-end road at the furthest point of the entire reserve. 13 miles from the nearest through road. Nervy bastard.:mad::mad:

When I go there I usually make a point to either lock mine in the cab, or chain it in the bed. I guess this is why I do. If you make it easy on a thief, he will surely make things hard on you.

Anyway- secure your stuff, guys. Pieces of human feces are everywhere.

Selling my Draco that I bought in January. I bought it new, and only put 15-20 rounds through it. I don't really want to sell it because it really is a nifty little gun, but my girlfriend and I are getting our first place together, and I decided to sell a toy or two to get us a bit of the furniture we need.

I paid right at around 395 for it.

Asking $380 or will consider a reasonable offer, please don't lowball me it would be a waste of your time and mine.

Gun will come with two 30 round mags. I know I have the manual that came with it somewhere, but I can't guarantee I will find it. Available for Ftf sale in or around baton rouge area.

For Valentines day in 2009, I wanted to come up with something clever to do for my girlfriend that wasn't cliche, and that was also very "me." I got to thinking about my bullet casting stuff and wondered what else I could possibly do with molten lead. I ended up making her this:

It was pretty fun and not all that difficult. Here is what I did:

For Valentines day in 2009, I wanted to come up with something clever to do for my girlfriend that wasn't cliche, and that was also very "me." I got to thinking about my bullet casting stuff and wondered what else I could possibly do with molten lead. I ended up making her this:

It was pretty fun and not all that difficult. Here is what I did:

I got a few things from a hobby store: oven bake clay, a heart shaped cookie cutter, and two wooden letters for the initials.

Step 1: using the cookie cutter as a guide, I made a clay mold of a heart, basically like a cup with a heart-shaped bottom. After smoothing it out a little bit, I pressed the letters into the bottom and then removed them and the cookie cutter which was supporting the "walls" of the cup. I then smoothed it out a little and baked it in the oven (I made several in case one broke or anything).
Step 2: Melted my lead and poured it into the mold. The mold was only really good for one casting since the extreme heat caused it to flake apart a little, and getting the lead out was easier if you just broke the thing. Let the lead harden fully.
Step 3: This is the part where you need to be careful you don't poison yourself. Using fine grit sandpaper, I smoothed out the surface wherever it was rough, especially on the letters. It was impossible to make the mold perfectly smooth, and there were a few tiny air bubbles. Naturally you will want to wear a mask over your nose and mouth when sanding lead because that's not something you want to breathe in.
Step 4: after sanding it so that all the rougher places were smooth, I put it on top of some red velvety cloth in a small heart shaped box I got at the craft store, and included a little poem, blah blah blah about her love melting my heart blah blah blah. You have to come up with this bit yourself.

Anyway, I figured I'd share this with you all since I was pretty pleased with how it came out. Has anyone else done anything fun with molten lead? I was thinking about trying to make a lead Mjolnir (thor's hammer) for my best friend who is a pagan.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Military bases across the U.S. have banned the
sale of a new video game that lets a player pretend to be a Taliban
fighter and "shoot" U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Gamers are scoffing at the decision, saying that advanced
technology has made it commonplace in the gaming world to let
players switch sides and play the bad guy.
"Medal of Honor" by Electronic Arts, a major game developer
based in Redwood City, Calif., hits stores Oct. 12.
After public protests, including by British Defense Secretary
Liam Fox, U.S. military officials decided not to stock the game in
any of the nearly 300 base exchange shops.
The game also won't be sold at any of the 49 GameStop stores
located on various military bases. Troops will be allowed to own
copies, but they would have to buy them off-base.
"We regret any inconvenience this may cause authorized
shoppers, but are optimistic that they will understand the
sensitivity to the life-and-death scenarios this product presents
as entertainment," said Maj. Gen. Bruce Casella, who commands the
Army & Air Force Exchange Service, which oversees more than 180
base exchange shops.
Casella made the decision last week, with the Navy quickly
following suit. Kathleen Martin, a spokeswoman for the Navy
Exchange Service Command, said the game won't be sold at any of the
Navy's 104 exchange shops "out of respect for the men and women
serving and their families."
Past versions of the 11-year old "Medal of Honor" game have
been set in World War II, allowing players to act as either members
of the Allied force or the Nazi regime.
The latest version is set in modern Afghanistan, where some
140,000 U.S. and NATO troops are fighting the Taliban. The story is
told through a small group of characters known as "Tier 1"
operators, elite fighters who take their orders directly from the
president and defense secretary.
"Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a
relatively unknown entity of hand-picked warriors are called on
when the mission must not fail," according to an online
description of the video game by Electronic Arts.
The website does not advertise the fact that the multiplayer
version allows a player to role-play as a member of the Taliban.
One online promotion features video interviews with Special
Operations personnel who the company says served as consultants to
improve the authenticity of the game. The faces of the men
interviewed were blurred and their names not given.
"By me being a part of it, I at least have some say on how the
community is represented," one man says.
Britain's Fox said last month that he was "disgusted and
angry" by what was a "tasteless product." Fox called on
retailers to show their support for the troops by not selling it.
"At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and
wives have lost husbands," Fox said. "It's shocking that someone
would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban
against British soldiers."
Electronic Arts did not immediately respond to a request for
comment. Spokeswoman Amanda Taggart was quoted last month by the
Sunday Times as saying video gamers routinely play both good guys
and bad guys.
"Most of us have been doing this since we were 7: Someone plays
cop, someone must be robber," the newspaper quoted her as saying.
