I don't feel like looking it up right now, but there is a law (state, local, federal, idk) that makes pocket holsters with an exposed trigger illegal. If somebody hasn't posted up with the law by tomorrow when I check back I'll see if I can find it.

I was thinking that I wouldnt even bother with a pocket holster if the trigger was exposed. The only reason I can see for having an LCP in a pocket holster (other than potential printing of the gun) is trigger control. With this, you lose the added safety of trigger protection. IDK.. not my cup of tea.

I think it is classified as AOW if the gun can function without being removed from the holster. An NFA item.

I thought if the gun was completely concealed within and could fire in the holster, it was an AOW, but the one above does not completely conceal it. There was a thread a while back on this very subject, and whether or not they were AOW's.

You might have a point Richard. I'm going off of the info given to me by a friend who has a North American Arms wallet holster for the mini .22 revolver that clearly states that putting the gun in the holster makes it an NFA AOW and requires the thing to be registered as such. Of course the semi-auto can't function if the slide was covered and that may be the way out. I don't know for sure but I would not bother with a setup like that.

its legal. same idea the guy over at art of the hide had. his is called the "holdster."

The FTB-BATF classified the Holdster design as
non-any other weapon (or not a wallet holster)
primarily because it is "readily discernible as a
weapon" due to the exposed slide. As long as it
isn't modified to conceal the weapon over the slide
it is legal to own and use in conjunction with a
semi-automatic pistol without falling in the AOW
    classification.

What I was told (and this came up regarding the North American 22 revo) was that since the grip screws came out and the holster was installed via those screws, then the gun was considered to have been modified. The holster I posted requires no such installation; it just slides in.
