Newest Davison. Stumbled into the opportunity.

Ebony handles? I really like the swedge on that one!

Shannon sent me a message and said my new knife should be finished soon! How soon is hard to tell, but he said not to worry, that it won't be long. I really want to find a nice traditional after my customs come in. Something like a burl handled Texas Toothpick.

    Yes, ebony wood.

Check out gec. I think they make some toothpicks like that.

I like GEC knives and purchase most of them from Knives Ship Free. They are one firm I can say only nice things about.

They have a #89 two-bladed toothpick in Gabon ebony for about $100

May I suggest going to their site, entering GEC Ebony in their search box, and check what comes up.

Another good store is GP Knives.

If you see a model that isn't listed in ebony, use google. I like the GEC Ben Hogan #65 and found one in ebony that way. Be aware the 65 comes in a couple of different blades and as a slipjoint as well as a lockback.

Then again you could have Todd make you one!

Mine that is similar I bought on the secondary market. It's similar but in black linen micarta.

Beware: searching for knives on the internet can bust your budget!

Kershaw #1970 Burst. Bought about seven Kershaws , all different , last year, all but one with speed-safe opening. ( I know I need an intervention ). The #1970 has come out on top , for using, after carrying them all.
A very close second is the Leek, anodized purple handle ( go tigers). the more substantial grip of the 1970 makes tough cutting easier, but the Leek is slim and trim and carries nicely. So,
Dress pants ...carry Leek in back pocket next to wallet.
Work pants and Jeans....1970 in whatever pocket.

It's called the "Urge" from Fall Creek Knives. Made by Shannon Carter. I have one on order. I should have my invoice next week and I'll post pictures when I get it.

Dave did you receive this one yet?

I talked with Shannon yesterday. The knife is complete. He's making my sheath this week. I figure I will have it sometime soon. I told him I wasn't in a rush, so the time span doesn't bother me. He did make some really nice slip joints recently, I would have loved to get one, but I believe the majority are already sold.

Just an update. It should be in the mail today. Shannon sent me these pictures last night. I've been extremely patient and couldn't be happier dealing with Shannon. I'd always prefer to wait and have something done right, than to rush someone into making mediocre work.

Dave, the more you post that little knife, the more I like it. Is that a custom? How hard is it to get something like that?

Yep, full custom, although it is one of Shannon's patterns. He made a small batch (when I originally posted his pictures) and I asked him to make me one, since he had sold the entire batch in just hours. All it takes is an email or phone call and some patience. For a custom S35VN fixed blade with pinned handles, the price was just right at roughly $200. He makes some amazing traditional knives too.

Beautiful. I really like that, but know nowhere near enough about knives to know why I'd be spending $200 on it.
