You can keep your current plan. Too bad the bill will cause insurance companies to drop most of their coverage just to break even.

THIS is why they are dropping your plan. So in a round about way YES the Obama Care debacle did cause you to lose your plan.

Happen to us too. We had to choose the ONLY plan left from my company. Some HSA plan that blows!

Ditto, I had to chose a new plan that costs just as much and covers way less. Gov controlled and mandated healthcare was always the goal.

yep company sent out a huge letter right after the obamacare stuff started about the cost going up and the company had was footing the bill until next cycle. Now we will be paying more, having a higher deductible and getting less.

My current insurance is overpriced and covers less than HALF of my medical bills. I've paid more in insurance this year already than I've used in my entire life.

Last week I was reading over a plan Assurant just started offering. Coverage was pitiful. Coverage was so much per covered loss, IE $350 for anesthesia, but only one covered event per year (I guess if you need a second surgery bring a good branch to bite down on and a bottle of scotch...). Scary stuff.

bumping this old thread to say...

I just lost the health insurance plan i've had since 2006....the estimates i'm getting from the "marketplace" for my premium are a minimum of 33% more per month, as well as a significant increase in deductibles, and a serious decrease in actual coverage.

This is quite concerning and depressing. IF I wanted try to get a plan that is a closer apples to apples comparison to my old plan, I'd have to pay 55% more per month, and still I would receive less actual coverage.

When I got laid off in 2015 I checked on Obamacare. What a joke. Crap coverage at high rates & high deductibles, etc. My wife put me on her Blue Cross plan at work. It costs about $750.00 a month for me but is an excellent plan. It is truly a crime that the working people have to pick up the tab for the lazy bastards who chose not to work & live off the system.

Then you had best read what I just posted about Blue Cross!

Its cheaper to fly down to Belize, Have the procedure done, Sit on the beach for a few days and then fly back.

Shhhhh! They will take that from us too if they figure it out. They want total control and you thinking outside the box just violates everything they believe in.

You actually believed that ! Come on , politicians will tell any lie they think might make you happy.
The truth is when my wife went to see her doctor of over 20 years , the one that delivered both our children ...SORRY she doesn't accept Obama Care...no law says a doctor has to accept it !...He didn't say a thing about that inconvenient truth !
I've had way too much of the Democrat's programs....time for a change.

...SORRY she doesn't accept Obama Care...

You do realize that "Obama Care" is not an insurance policy? So your doctor just doesn't accept insurance? My daughter does accept just about any insurance at her clinic, but some of the doctors she gets referrals from have gone to the "concierge" (sp?) model where the patient enrolls with that doctor, pays a set annual fee and gets all the routine medical care needed. When new patients walk in with their insurance policies, they are sent elsewhere.

As for the collapse of Obama Care about which we are hearing so much lately, the main problem is healthy (mostly young) people are electing to pay the penalty rather than the premiums. I prepare tax returns for a wide range of clients, and lost count of those who said "screw the gov't, I'll pay the penalty." The obvious solution -- which I think is coming -- is to drastically increase the penalty so that it really cost more to not have insurance than to pay the exorbitant premiums.

I'm not sure problem is the right word. These "programs" extort the young hard working healthy to provide for the worthless sickly folks. The plans are a disgrace. If I had to use the "marketplace" created by those phony hack jobs I would probably gamble and pay the fine too. The coverage is abysmal and the premiums are legalized theft.

You will never get a single republican to vote for this either! Unless that republican is a democrat!

    All correct!

Like all "free-****" designed to win mindless lever pulling for democrats, this Dumbass-o-care only seems to be beneficial to those that are complete drags on society and voluntarily choose not to work. I have many (hard working), employees that applied to the low income version of this horse **** and quickly realized that even though it is free, they have a $5,000 deductible.
