Nice kill. Did you weigh it? Tough to take a guess at the weight without anything to judge the size by. Looks healthy.

Does this look like a coyote to you guys? I've not seen one quite so large and dark. My son got the pic last week in Lincoln Parish. The deer pics stopped for at least a day before and after this one whereas he was getting lots before.

We have a similar Coyote like that here in SELA - long legs, big as a full grown German Shepard. I agree with the theory that it could be a cross breed.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the specs on that build? Looks like a BCM upper and a billet lower.

I don't mind at all. The rifle pictured I made from 80% Arms upper and lower receivers, ARP 6.8 SPC II 18" mid weight barrel, Stag 6.8 bolt, M16 bolt carrier, Vortex Comp 2 port muzzle device, BCM KMR Alpha forend, BCM lower parts kit, BCM stocks, BCM buffer kit, Vortex Diamondback HP 3-12x42 scope with multicam camo wrap. The finish is six colors of Duracoat used to make the OCP camo pattern. I use ASC 6.8 SPC 10 round mags. 95gr Barnes TTSX with 24.9gr of IMR-4198, Hornady cases, small rifle primers, 2.31" COL.

I don't recommend the compensator for hunting as my left ear still hurts. The COL is a bit too long as well. I'm going to make loads in 2.29" for easier feeding. At 2.31" I'm getting less than 1" groups at 200yds and averaging 2700fps.

Thanks for sharing! That's a really slick build!

    Thanks.

And yessir. IR Hunter MKII 20mm on the rifle. IR Patrol m300w on the yote. Tough to beat thermal setup. This was the Patrol's first hunt. Have had the MKII for a month or so and its claimed several hogs in Tx. Planning to upgrade the MKII to the 35mm once hunting slows down.

Nice gear and good shooting! Really impressed with the IR Patrol.

Solid work!! Guess it's been a while since I've checked the thread out; didn't realize we had all this activity lately. (old screen name Hoghunter1203 before the FFL). I haven't had a chance to get after the little critters since night season ended. Looking forward to March! Keep up the fight.

    Havin' fun!
