I ask because when some folks post a story to maybe help others learn from their mistakes, or experience, the trolls are quick to come out and either interject their unsubstantiated or ill-informed comments. There are several posters here that have to say something on almost every post. You guys must live a sad f'n life. Y'all seem to think you are smarter and better than everyone else. This was a great place when Spanky owned it, and now sometime you'll get a warning when one of the moderator's don't like your opinion or you hurt someone's feeling. We need to respect others who post stories to inform us of things that happened and quit Monday morning quarterbacking when it's obvious you were not there and don't know the facts. Here is an example of a comment from a recent attempted car jacking" why didn't you backup or drive around them?" Well obviously he has never been on that road to see there was no option to go around.( telephone poles, fence, fire hydrants, etc.) So if you don't know the facts don't make comments on what I should have done, or what you would have done. You weren't there. I'm sure said trolls will have a field day with this post. .....Rant over....let the flaming begin in 1,2......

Someone saying they disagree with you or that they don't believe your story or someone asking a question about or pointing out red flags in a story is not trolling.

For example, you posted the story about the ticket and the cop writing down the wrong law either accidentally or on purpose. I explained how either one of those scenarios was unlikely. That's not trolling. That's commenting on your story with information known to me.

Hey look, I’m the one with the troll target painted on my back here, lol. I’m like troll bait. Don’t troll me bro!

There's no target on your back. You're not troll bait. But you do try to provoke arguments. Another member can literally say they agree with you and you will accuse them of being the voice of opposition.

You ask a question , you invite people to give their opinion then suggest people who are trolls will answer and have a field day . Seriously ? If you don't want to be called out for saying stupid stuff don't post stupid stuff . And this is not a troll response it is on the subject you brought up .

I know you like to refer to me as a troll but I’ll bite. When you post about running from police and dirty cops , especially when you claim to be a prior LEO, it’s going to get responses from other LEO wanting some explanations. With you supposedly being a former LEO, this shouldn’t be a surprise. From you’re answers and stated outlook on LE I am of the opinion that you probably didn’t leave LE because you wanted to, more likely you were forced to quit. Maybe because you ran from police when you were off duty or maybe because you were throwing dirty cop accusations around. If you want to PM me your name I can ask some older non dirty deputies I know in St James and get the scoop.

Come on man, you have been here since 09. You should know that this place has always had trolls. Do you not remember the whole Bug Out Whale fiasco, just to name one?

There are some good people here but trolls have always been plenty.

It's just the internet in general usually but I am a member of other forums where people are much more well behaved and nice.

Yeah, I see your point. I reckon this place is pretty tame compared to AR15.com or some others I’ve visited. I think that members being mostly local keeps out a lot of nasty petty garbage. That and gunkid being locked up.

The trolling on ARFCOM is the main reason I go to GD.... You read the comments and can't help but laugh at how clever some people are.

This is the only forum I have ever been on that I haven't trolled. I don't ever degrade anyone or call anyone to fight.. So yes.. What I say on the internet I'd say in person.

In my opinion, this is NOT the community it used to be. There was a time that you could count on someone when they told you "Yes, it's yours, I'll mark it sold" and "Yes, I'm buying it from you". Now it's a crap shoot. This place is not much better than Louisiana Sportsman. I'm not knocking LA Sportsman, I'm on it posting pretty often. Albeit is full of azzholes, and this place has become home to a number of them, and then some. I'm no better than anyone else, but when it comes to the site today, it is what it is.
I don't mean to ruffle any feathers. It's just my opinion, everybody has one. With that being said....BUY MY STUFF & SELL ME YOURS!

Even the local Neighborhood Watch Groups are filling up with Trolls. They volunteer to become Moderators, and then tell us how much of an Expert they are on everything from Fire Ants to Space Travel. It has become a way for the Narcissistic Insecure Little Man to be heard. You best not view your opinion, lest you will be banned.
