It's a damn shame that they come across as if the only thing they are worried about is their power over the people. Each and every one of those guys carry a concealed weapon, and believe me, it's highly unlikely they shoot very well at all, but they damn well know they can't protect anyone of us from being attacked and physically harmed or killed.
They are worried about public encounters and they already make encounters with armed and dangerous individuals daily. To hell with those guys.

Do you mean the mayors of BR and NOLA? I’m amazed at how a city can mostly have a decent government and elect the suckiest mayors. Both cities have had some real dirtbag mayors over the years.
I have my lifetime concealed carry permit and I have sat through a few classes. The "training" is an absolute joke. They do give you a run down of where you can and cannot carry a concealed fire arm, but that is about the extent of the "training". There is no actual firearm training. After the classroom time, we went to a range and shot at a target from 3', 6', then 9'. I believe it was like 3 rounds at each target. Then we were done. One girl had never even taken her brand new pistol out of the box. She asked the instructor to load it for her.
The problem is that the vast majority of Louisiana gun owners DO want Constitutional Carry.
I personally want a return to the original meaning of the 2nd amendment, that the government shall not infringe on the people's Right to bear arms and many others want this too. The government, especially the federal government, has too much power and through re-interpretation, mis-interpretation and mis-representation of the words of the 2nd amendment they have taken away millions of Americans Right to defend themselves.

It is funny that JBE and the "Top Cops" are saying this when LA has an open carry law that requires no education. I do not want to start an open carry v/s concealed carry debate but find it comical that it is NOW that they want everyone to be trained and educated about firearms.

Edwards: "Look guys, I am in a tough spot. I am probably going be the first Governor in Louisiana to be overridden in a Veto Session on the CC issue. That won't look good for democrats and the cause in general."

Edwards: "We need to push what we all no is BS to the dumbasses out there that Constitutional Carry will be the end of the world. We need to convince these idiots that we know what's best for them."

I may be wrong but I think there is no law on the books in the state of Louisana that okays open carry of firearms. But I also think there is also no law on the books in the state of Louisana that says that it is illegal as well. Please correct me if I am wrong and provide me with the statue that states either way.
