Any suggestions for a quality and affordable dash cam? I have a cheap Chinese piece of junk cam that I’d like to toss in a dumpster and replace with a decent one. The internet has way too many options so I’m hoping for some solid advice/suggestions from the good people of Bayou Shooter. Thanks.

Garmin Dash Cam Tandem, Front and Rear Dual-lens Dash Camera With Interior Night Vision, Two 180-degree Lenses, Front-Facing Lens with 1440p, Interior-Facing Lens with 720p

    Garmin Dash Cam Tandem

I have this one. It has a camera facing outwards and inwards. Shows the speed and GPS coordinates on the video and you can turn it on or off. Video quality is excellent and records audio as well. I believe it can take cards up to 256GB which hold a few days worth of video. No issues since I bought it a year ago.

Thanks, my man! I’ll look into this one for sure. Garmin has a pretty good reputation.

I've been using a Z Edge Z3 Pro in my car for the past 2.5 years. Never had an issue, and it also records in front of, and inside the car. It's less than 1/2 the price of the Garmin hkump suggested, running about $100 on Amazon. A bunch of online positive reviews is the main reason I chose this one. I've owned a couple of Garmins in the past, and while I was originally happy with the cameras, they didn't seem to last very long.

Good to know, thanks. I’ll look into that one as well.

I was in this boat about a year ago and at the time, BlackVue was the best of the best. I ended up getting the front and rear cam and have had no problems thus far. I hard wired mine to the fuse box and it just perpetually records front and back 24x7.

I bought a $50 off Amazon called Okino or Okyno. Works fine.

Do you have a secondary battery source or does it just run off your main vehicle battery?

Any other suggestions before I pull the trigger this weekend?
I have a Garmin Speak Plus. Not made anymore. Get them while you can. Voice activation, with Alexa. Pairs with your cell phone using Bluetooth. I've bought 3 of them. Let 1 go with the truck I no longer have.
