    Really?

The back of my truck is outfitted as a camper. Bed, Stove, even a portlet.

I've got the better part of a bottle of Four Roses back there too.

What about people who live in motorhomes ? Must they abstain from drinking liquor, or are they forced to consume the entire bottle once it's opened ?

Blanket statements never end well, . . .

It has to be easily accessible to the driver or passenger.

Is there any possible way you could maybe just jump up your own ass? That would truly serve a purpose here. So if you don’t mind getting that done, I’m sure there are a few folks here that would appreciate that.
There is nothing wrong with justice Mr Advanced Loser. There is nothing wrong with standing up for it in any capacity. I’ve never been abused by any law enforcement. I’m afraid your theory holds no water. I also don’t owe you an explanation for my beliefs. Go have a nice bowl of rock salad.

I believe you Mag although you do like to jump on a good LEO topic any chance you get but I do enjoy seeing your take on it. If there were threads on defense attorneys and car salesman I’d probably jump on board to.

Isn't it amazing that almost every law on the books could be eliminated by people just leaving their fellow citizens alone?

I don't care if people want to poison themselves with drugs. I don't care if someone smokes weed until the smoke comes out of their ear holes. What I care about is whether their "individual" behavior could cause me and my family harm. People driving while impaired could cause me and my family harm. People playing with their phones while driving could cause me or my family harm.

Austin is correct! Feel good BS!

If we are marching toward legalizing marijuana, fine! But I'm still waiting for someone to tell me how I am going to allow someone who "legally" smokes it on his own time, to drive one of my trucks after he tests positive for it (from the night before on his couch), on a random company drug test? It's one thing to be actually physically altered or test positive on the spot for alcohol. It's a whole new ballgame to have THC in your system for days after smoking it, and try to convince me you are not smoking it during my employ.

As long as I can openly decide to avoid hiring anyone who "legally" smokes marijuana at their house, without legal repercussions to me, knock yourselves out.

I'm sure you already know this, but, insurance. From my understanding, there is a way to test for recent use of, or impairment from marijuana. This needs to be the ONLY test that is allowed to be used when it comes to marijuana. What one puts in their own body is no one else's business, like you said, as long as it is done on their own time and they are not intoxicated at work or on the road. Testing for a substance that stays in your system for a month is yet another invasion of privacy and should become a cringe worthy practice of the past.

Motor I’ll shoot straight with you. If I’m a cop hater then I’m a people hater and I have too much love for my fellow man for anyone to think that.
I tell you what I am, I’m a firm believer in God, right and wrong, and justice. When I see something unjust, I’m moved to words at the very least. Doesn’t matter who is responsible, my response will be the same. I’ve learned of enough times that LEO’s have abuse, twisted, or otherwise bent the law to attempt to justify their actions. Actions that were many times later found by the courts to be unjust. Some people deny that this is as common as it is and say I’m just watching too much YouTube or I’m a conspiracy theorist or have confirmation bias, but I know that’s not the case. There are too many instances today to ignore or deny. So, my comments in this thread regarding LEO’s no longer being able to use the “odor of marijuana” excuse to create exigency or other reason to simply walk into a person’s home and how that’s a good thing has absolutely zero to do with cops who would never do such a thing. Only the ones who would and those who would knowingly support or cover for the ones that do. That’s it. My feelings would be the same for any other person who wields any sort of power over a person’s fate and practices outside the law in such a way as to violate their rights. A judge, a jury, politician, doctor, DEFINITELY a car salesman, whoever. And I swear it’s nothing personal. I’ve never called for defunding police. I’ve supported law enforcement for many years. I’ve worked shoulder to shoulder with them for most of my life. I’ve got LEO’s in my family. You quite possibly witness me show a dislike for all sorts of people on this site. Governments for one. Here and abroad. Hillary Clinton. Rapists, thieves, murderers, abusers, pedos, and many more. But you take offense when I say the first negative word about a LEO or their actions. All I’m saying is it’s nothing personal.

Hey I’m all for taking away any advantage I have at work. Don’t want me using my nose to smell marijuana and enter a house to further an investigation, cool, works for me. I’ve made and witnessed very bad people including murderers and murder weapons taken off the street by officers furthering an investigation off of the odor of marijuana. Take away reasons for traffic stops and I’m good with that to. This has all been tried in other places and they are begging to go back to the previous way of doing things. I will do as much or as little as I’m authorized to do, I’m good with it if you are.

You have a very valid point. I’ve had this argument before. I’m betting It will cause your insurance to go up. If there is a more precise test for marijuana I bet it’s not cheap, but hey you can afford it I guess. I’d hate for you to damper your employees fun on their off time even if it costs you more money.

From what I’ve read prior to the idea of legalizing it there was never a need to develop a test that could show whether a person is high now or yesterday. But now there is a need for that and I’m sure the tech behind it will get better with time.

I’m sure it will but it won’t be cheap. They will know it’s a necessity for businesses and law enforcement

Well I’m glad to say I know a cop that doesn’t abuse or twist the law to suit his work or take shortcuts. Well done Motor.

Well, she clearly deserved to have her rights violated. I bet she won't criticize her overseers again. Good for them for showing her who's boss.
Well I’ll be.. we are in total agreement on something.

I think the real tragedy here is that cops can’t just say they smell marijuana and use that to gain access/excuse/exigency or what have you to bypass procedure or lead to possible busts for something else. Tragic for the police I mean. And that’s ok, I get it. I can sympathize with the cops, really. I mean, I’m always saying how I smell a rat, when in reality I don’t smell a rat. I’ve smelled a rat’s nest in the barn a few times and I know what they smell like. I just say I smell a rat when I know something nefarious is going on.
Do cops really think they might get shot every time they make a stop? I mean, is that a thing? Anyone know the ratio of traffic stops to police shootings?
    Histrionics….
I guess they don’t get anywhere being honest about the why for anything?
Kinda reminds me of the vehicle window tint laws.
The thing about police stops is that the police don't know which vehicle stop is going to be the one who shoots at them or tries to flee possibly running the officer over, so have to treat each stop like that. They don't know whether the person they pulled over is a violent or if they're a citizen.

How do you get passed question 21e on the FFL 4473 form regarding POT?

Feds say POT is illegal no matter what your state law is. You would need to answer yes or maybe be guilty of false information?

our police officers are the worst trained in the world. There is NO test available to tell when the last time someone smoked, Smelling Cannabis in a car is like smelling tobacco in a car, if someone was in a smokey bar, they are going to smell like tobacco, the same if a person is at a party, concert, etc. if there was a lot of cannabis used, your clothes may be high but not necessarily YOU. And cops just love to abuse their "power". Smelling anything is meaningless and proves nothing

There are a lot of people (employees), who couldn't give a flying f**k about the hassles and the costs the company they work for has to put up with to be in business and allow them to earn a paycheck. I am getting slowly starved out of business by workman's comp, auto, and property insurances as it is, if I have to pay more to be magnanimous to those employees who may choose to get high on their own time, I am done!

Who (not living in fairyland), believes for one nanosecond that when an employee tests positive for last night's concert high, in a post accident drug screen on the job, that the parasite lawyers aren't going to take the company to the cleaners?

I guarantee; the ambulance chasing lawyer scum are chomping at the bit for legalized marijuana. Businesses will suffer, people will get injured, and injury lawyers will get even more rich at businesses expense.

That's personal liberty and freedom for ya!

Meh. Depends on the skill level you have to have. I know some people are getting hammered by the lack of "qualified" employees available, but it is an employees market right now. The pendulum will swing back the other way one day.
