Now they need to do the same for convicted felons.
I'm aware but what I meant was, per the 2a any should be able to possess one.Not all convictions mean you can’t possess a firearm.

A lot of people have selective pro 2a feelings. If you committed one of the crimes listed prohibiting you from owning a firearm then in good with you not having one.

Not selective pro 2a feelings as much as I don’t care about you losing your 2a after you victimize your fellow citizens.

You are both right; sorta! My biggest worry about carving out exceptions on the Amendments is democrats! EVERY time they get in power they find more ways to chip away at the one document that stands in their way of permanent power the most; The US Constitution!I understood that's what you meant. I was wrong for quoting you then saying you have selective pro 2a feelings when I have no idea how you stand on anything.
With that said, people in general do have selectic feelings toward rights. Which is fine until a law is put in place to take them away.
Should felons be allowed to have their guns in prison? Or do you feel prisons are unconstitutional because the felons have lost some of their rights by being confined?I understood that's what you meant. you might be on to somthing there man... like the hunger games... give them guns and surround it with bullet proof metal/glass... i bet in 24 hours we will have alot less criminals to provide for with our tax $ lolShould felons be allowed to have their guns in prison? Or do you feel prisons are unconstitutional because the felons have lost some of their rights by being confined?

It doesnt matter how anyone feels. Rights overrule feelings. If i were in prison, id sure want a gun.Should felons be allowed to have their guns in prison? Or do you feel prisons are unconstitutional because the felons have lost some of their rights by being confined?
Based on your logic, you shouldn't be in prison since prisons wouldn't exist because prisons restrict your movement. Hasn't the Supreme Court ruled you have a right to free movement? It doesnt matter how anyone feels. Rights overrule feelings. If i were in prison, id sure want a gun.
I don't know what they ruled on. I don't keep up with that.Based on your logic, you shouldn't be in prison since prisons wouldn't exist because prisons restrict your movement. Hasn't the Supreme Court ruled you have a right to free movement?

If I say that is unconstitutional, then someone can say I'm ok criminals getting to run free. If I say prisons are ok, then I myself want or don't want some rights for myself or others which makes me the kettle calling the pot black.
I'm aware I did not answer your question.
I agree. It's a good thing I don't consider partaking in forums as trying to make it go away. This to me is just passing the time.Recognizing there is a conundrum and deciding to not address it does not make make the conundrum go away.
