I had a sale post deleted today. Would be nice to at least know why.

It met all criteria as far as I know. If not would be nice to have an explanation.

Other than a reply to someone else's ad, I don't see where you had a post deleted. I'm not saying it didn't happen. Posts can be deleted permanently or they can, in essence, be hidden. I can see the hidden ones but not the other ones. What section was to post in?

It’s happened a couple times to me as well. I’ve been told no rhyme or reason for it happening that it’s a random error. It’s frustrating to take the effort to take pictures and write up a post all to have it vanish in thin air.

I looked back through all of your 2023 posts and the only ones I see that were deleted (hidden) were bump to your ads and you deleted those yourself. Again, there may be others I cannot see.

Right, I remember not too long ago we went through this. Something seems to still be happening.

I got my answer. Was told a pistol with a brace makes it a SBR even though they are still within the time frame to comply with all atf rules. The 120 days is not up yet so I didn’t feel it was a SBR yet but guess I was wrong.

so someone is just deleting all of these threads I suppose that randomly disappear and they don’t give any explanation as to why?

whbonney26's ad has been explained. You mentioned having a couple disappear and you referenced a thread that talked about 1 disappearing. 1, or even 2-3, is hardly an epidemic.

Yes, it was explained after I could not find the post and inquired here about it. Nonetheless, it was explained and it is what it is. I don't exactly agree with it but I guess that's their ruling.

Who told you this? What was the name of the post?

Mods shouldn't be able to permanently delete posts - they should only be able to soft delete them so we have a paper trail of what happened.

It also stands out to me as odd as there are at least a half dozen posts with similar products still listed. If that's going to be policy, that's fine and y'alls prerogative, but enforcement needs to be fair and consistent across the board

Alright folks, I'm looking into it. It appears that the site owner might have hard-deleted the post (only him and I have the ability to hard delete things). I'm unsure at the time what his stance is on AR pistols that have not yet been legally registered as SBRs, but I'll report back when I find out :)

Also to let y'all know what happened, here is the sequence of events:

A site user utilized the report system to report that WHbonney26 had a SBR being sold as pistol.

The forum owner saw the report and "hard deleted" the post, making it where the post is gone forever - probably accidentally. Normally we "soft delete" posts so we have a paper trail of what happened to match up to the reported post log. Soft deleting posts allows site staff to view the deleted item, but they aren't publically visible.

Sometime after the post was deleted it sounds like the mod team tried to figure out what happened, hence the conversation above.

My guess is that the hard delete was accidental. Normally when a post is deleted, the mods give a warning or an infraction so the user can see why their post was deleted.

I have reached out to the site owner for clarification on what happened and if his stance (his company's stance) is to not allow AR pistols that have yet to be converted to SBRs.
