Gus is a good dog with a good little personality, he is quiet and he is good with other dogs. He lives with me , my wife and four children, so he is good with kids. I hate for an animal to be left alone all day and not get the attention that they love. I will let him go to a good home that will promis to take care of him and to give him lots of love.

if you are interested shoot me a PM or call at 225 244 168 six.

    Thanks
    Jake

Gus sure looks like a keeper. With those ears he could fly to your home.

His ears are a huge selling point for us.

We had adopted another dachshund at the Krewe of Mutts parade in Jan with goofy ears. He was adorable. We knew he was heart worm positive but he needed to gain weight before the vet could do the treatment. It was a challenge to get some weight on him. Four months later he passed away due to the heartworms.

So when the wife saw those ears she was on the phone with Gus' owner.... She already has printed out Gus' picture and has it on the wall next to her desk.

I know how hard it is to care for an animal in need and it takes a caring person to do it, it is good for the soul. The biggest honor you can bestow on a departed pet is to bring another into your life.

Post more picuters of Gus when you get him home and settled in.

Gus has found a new home with flamatrix99. They came and picked him up just a little while ago. We said our fare wells and watched them go. I think he has found a good home with them. I wanted to say thank you to all of the people here on BS for all of the posts and calls, that just goes to show the type of person that is on this site and makes me feel proud that I'm a part of it.

    Thanks
    Jake

Hey All, this is FLAMATRIX99 better half, just wanted to let you all know how Gus is doing. He is very shy and nervous about his new home. My rat terrier and female dauchshund were very excited to have a new friend in the house and were kind of smoothering when we brought Gus home. We know that he needs a little time to adjust to his new surrounds and look forward to him coming out of his shyness. Flamatrix and I will be posting pictures tonight of the dogs and will keep you all updated to how Gus is adjusting. We are blessed to have such a cute and adorable addition to our family. Thank you Jake and your family for letting us adopt Gus, he will definately be spoiled in our home.

A long time ago we bought dachshund litter mates, kept one and gave the other to my parents. The photo reminds me of them as one was red, the other B&T. They had the grandest time chasing around the house. A favorite toy was an old white sock with a belled ball inside. I can see them now, both with a grip on it, running thru the house growling at each other.

Thanks for bringing back the memories.
