Defendants Kenneth Bowen, Robert Gisevius, Robert Faulcon and Anthony Villavaso were found guilty of the shooting of civilians and participation in the cover-up. Sergeant Arthur Kaufman was found guilty of the cover-up.

Jurors did not find that the killing of Ronald Madison rose to the level of murder. And jurors only found Kenneth Bowen guilty of shooting and killing James Brissette.

    I don't understand this

It's bulls1t. U shoot and kill someone in similar circumstances and you'll be in Angola. But some will ALWAYS side with Authority.

As for rioting, it's usually reserved for those who perceive they have no voice and don't count which is why I'd be appalled if anyone here participated in violence/rioting against the state.

    When you kill someone

Someone who knows the law please explain this to me. They were found to cause the deaths but were not found guilty of murder. I don't get it

When you kill someone you could be found guilty of Murder (there are degrees 1st degree 2nd degree etc). OR you could be found guilty of manslaughter. OR you could be found guilty of Negligant homicide.

If I'm lying in wait for my neighbor in his garage and shoot him so I can run off to Las Vegas with his wife and the money from his life insurance policy money, I'm probably going to be found Guilty of murder. If he comes to my front yard yelling that he's going to kill me for messing around with his wife and I shoot him while we're wrestling around in my yard and he's unarmed , I'll probably get charged with manslaughter. If I'm shooting squirlls in my back yard with a .22 rifle and accidently shoot him while he's cutting his grass and he dies I might be found guilty of Negligent homicide.

The cops didn't premeditate a plan to kill these guys, they were scared and confused, forgot their training, freaked out and started shooting. If they'd come clean and reported what they'd done they could have plead guilty to negligant homicide in State court probably.

I'm just hoping that now that all these feds involved are freed up, maybe some could stop by Fullerton, Ca. and Tucson to do a little nosing around. I mean as long as they are interested in civil rights, and all. Course the kid in Fullerton was white and not being one of Eric Holders "my people," it prolly ain't happenin. But, Jose Guerena, being Hispanic might have an outside shot at justice. Even though the military service will count against him in a Dem. administration.

The evidence of the cover up was pretty overwhelming. That's what caught the feds' eyes in the first place. Local justice failed.

Selected justice by Holder? Perhaps. He has proven over and over he is unfit to serve as the U.S. AG. He may be a bigger ideologue than the Pretender himself.

Personally...I feel most have paid their price to society already. Guilty or not...they have already gone through hell. I'm just not a huge fan of incarceration for most time offenders. And even though people lost their lives...I never felt it was a murder charge. At most...it was negligent manslaughter IMO when taking into consideration the chaos of Katrina.
As far as the Justice Dept behavior...I have a huge problem when Lady Justice takes off her blindfold, and totally agree that the verdict should have been thrown out.
