I filled out a paper application for a new permit and hand-delivered it to the LSP HQ in Baton Rouge a few weeks ago. I paid via money order while there, and also did my prints there.
So I email them last Friday checking in and they say they're still processing paper apps...

I made it out to Honey Island Saturday. It was quite crowded, but the range officers did a good job of keeping things moving and we didn't really have to wait long at all to get a lane. Kudos to the guys running the range. Nice fun and safe environment. Well worth the drive from Metry.
Thanks for the update. My dad, brother, and I are planning to come to the range this coming Saturday. Will the three of us be able to share a lane given the Phase-2 guidelines?
If you're willing to go 9mm, I'd check out the Ruger Security 9. They run around $300. I have the compact version but there's a "full size" option also available. Mine has been great. I did have one FTE near the end of one range session with magtech ammo. Otherwise it's ran flawlessly for ~500...
