Another reason why I don't do Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans

Set up across the street from this today also had a place the sold funnel cakes and nachos next to me. I'm fat, kids had fun, can't complain.

      Cashless society very soon

We are definitely moving towards less cash, but so long as there's still actual currency in circulation, can we actually be cashless? I'm more of the hybrid, I like earning CC points, but also like using cash to tips and small mom and pop businesses.

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

I will say not every one hits the EPA numbers. But in my sample of two cars I currently drive. My Honda gets exactly what the sticker says if not better, I get over 55mpg riding around town. And about 45 on the highway. Now my Escalade gets 17.5 mpg on the highway but I typically speed and 15...

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

Yea the numbers being unobtainable is common across all EV's in the market. Look what the Ford f150 lightnings are getting. one issue is the "range" is done going ~30-50mph with no AC or radio on. Ford motor co had the nerve to alert people with lightnings to NOT use their heated seats and...

I'm not sure how I feel about near field charging. Does anyone feel that there's a lot more cancer going around? I know 3 people personally that are around my age and are battling cancer, and I don't consider myself old

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

You can get aftermarket Prius battery packs for 800-900 bucks. There’s YouTube videos on how to swap it out, usually a battery pack lasts 150-200k miles. I know two people that have had to change theirs. It’s been years with the 20k dollar Chevy bolt battery story. I’m sure they finally have...

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

also for those interested in EV, but don't want to go full retard. Maybe look into a hybrid. The CEO of Toyota announced that EV's aren't the future, and that the resources are better used to make more hybrids, as EV's infrastructure isn't there yet to mandate everyone use it, but there's a...

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

Think you have to have a sub 2017 to have free Tesla super charging. They charge now. Also if you get a non-tesla car you have to use different chargers like "charge America" which can charge you by the time or wattage. And usually are slower. GM has some super fast charging in the hummer EV...

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

I've only worked my current job for ~2 years, but since then I have found out what highway 90, I49 and hwy 190 are. And also the little bridge in BR that runs parallel to the big one. NONE of those highways do you want to be stuck with an EV on as it's very rural. I'm a fan, and if my wife...

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

When you're on the road for 5 hours on a work day, you don't want to be on the road any longer than you absolutely need to be. I know the super charger can get you up to 80% in 20 min, but I don't want to wait 20 min and let that BR traffic build at the port allen bridge.

      Frozen EVs in Chicago.

As someone that will probably never daily an EV, I literally have dozens of family members and friends with mostly teslas, but few have Porsche taycan and Audi e-trons. Except for the Porsche and Audi people, everyone else said they would never go back to gas. Mind you they ALL have gas cars in...

      How would you handle this?

That's what I was wondering, was his other hand holding up a phone to record? Wasn't sure if that was what was going on, or does he carry a go pro but his other hand was holding something else while hiking/hunting.
