I have the Colt version also. I did have a couple of issues early on, but were resolved quickly. It was sent to umarex for warranty repair, got it back in a week. I had it out yesterday and it ran great. I put 100 rounds through it with no problems. They are pretty accurate as well.
I have a membership there and have been most happy with it. Troy is a good guy. You gotta' love the dog too. I shoot mostly AR's & AK's there with no problems. Give them a try.
I'm sure if you talked to Troy about your experience, both of you would feel better. My experience there is 100% positive, very nice people & a great dog too. I shoot my AR's and AK's with no hassle at all. Give them another chance to gain your trust.
Took the critter to Diamond today, put 100 rounds through it. The assement is as follows;
I had 10 fail to fire incidents during the test. Later, using the non fired rounds, they all went bang. Seems like a light strike situation. Only being able to shoot at 25yds, it had good accuracy with...
I picked one up a couple days ago, haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It is an all metal gun, strong lookalike to the real thing. The parts won't interchange with a real one.
Don't know anyone that has one, but read a report on arfcom from a guy that's put 2500 rounds through one & says it's...
derf,
I'm sure I have one, will check tonight. It's a Romanian from a SAR. I'll be happy to give it to you. Call me at the Harley-Davidson store 225-292-9632 ask for Ron.
The downside to a post requirement is for people like me. I don't post much, but rather spend the time to absorb info from lots of people I consider more knowledgable than I. I'm sure there are others like that also. But I wouldn't care for a restriction in case I do want to use the marketplace...
For only about $150 more you can do much better. Bushmaster, Stag etc., both at around 1k. Oly has suffered from many quality issues over the years, perhaps they are better now, but I'm unwilling to gamble on it..Good luck.
Barney,
You can keep your original handle just by adding the Latch. Not a big deal. Jim's had them in stock last week, probably still has some. Just ask for a Tac Latch.
