You can assume every gun is loaded and I do....but what happens if it's NOT loaded and you need it! At a glance I can grab it and know it's ready. JMHO ......................bobby

Already shot it! Shoots great and other 1911's already come from the factory like this! What resale don't go down after you shoot the weapon??? I didn't buy it to resale it! It's my personal weapon I use and recreational shoot. ...................bobby

Added a inspection hole to my 1911 to check a chambered round tonite

I did the mod because it's NOT the only gun I carry or shoot! I have numerous weapons that I feel like carrying or taking with me to shoot and my revolvers and other auto with the tattle tail let you know they are loaded. Sometimes my 1911 (and I have two), it's hard to remember if had loaded it...

Added a inspection hole to my 1911 to check a chambered round tonite

Thanks, I saw that and not sure why the pic came out that way and what is causing the shadows. As you can see from the other pics, it's perfectly round! ...................bobby

Added a inspection hole to my 1911 to check a chambered round tonite

There is no extreme pressure exerted on this part of the barrel because over 3/4's of the barrel is missing on the bottom of the barrel as you can see from the pics and it's where the strongest part of the brass casing is located at the rim! So, as you can see the factory does it as others have...

Compared to a factory barrel with the inspection port already in it. 1911 loaded to show round in chamber! Hope you enjoy the thread! ......................bobby

First slot done! This makes cutting the second slot easier and less walking around with the round bit. Done! Less than 5 minutes.

Pawn shops/ gun stores that have a good used handgun selection????

Gold n Gun on Airline Hwy in Gonzales has had the best selection of used guns. I have bought quite a few from Mark and some new ones. Of course since the gun craze his selection changes all the time. .......................bobby

Added a inspection hole to my 1911 to check a chambered round tonite

I guess I should have put this in the gunsmithing section, but it's really just a mod from my perspective. Simple and very clean idea and of course someone on here has probably already done it. .................bobby

Added a inspection hole to my 1911 to check a chambered round tonite

I got this idea from a friend of mine and decided to give it a try on my 1911. Unloaded the weapon, removed the slide and barrel and used some masking tape on the barrel to be able to mark the center of the top of the barrel. Started with what I thought was a good depth and marked it on the...
