I'll most likely go with a TLR-6. I realize I'll probably have a much better light in my pocket but I like the redundancy.
I'll give the podcast a listen on my way to town today. Maybe it will change my mind.
Seems people left out the LCP Max I just upgraded my LCP2 to one... Honestly more firepower than you will ever need. I wear slacks too... The P365 is too heavy and shows badly because of it and it's a bit awkward to be bouncing around in a pocket... The LCP Max is light like a Featherweight snubby but 10+1 of 380 is no joke...
Carry a surefire stiletto in the offhand pocket, and practice shooting with one hand while holding the flashlight. With a pocket gun you're talking about close quarters self defense anyway you should be able to do it with one hand. I think anything railmounted is going to be huge for your pocket, you might as well carry OTB or shoulder at that point. if you wanna stick with low profile and pocket carry get a surefire stiletto and one of those fancy little tiny 9mms like the hellcat or 365 or I think glock has one like the 42, there are a ton, get a tiny little 9mm and a surefire stiletto cant go wrong. Honestly if you're in a really sketchy place where you feel like youre safety is at risk I would carry something more substantial than a pocket gun.... Why not a IWB with a glock 19? can you do OWB with an untucked shirt or jacket, thats one of my favorite ways to carry?
I actually have a "wallet " holster for my Sig P938, It is very thin leather and has a flap that folds over the gun butt so it if shows it looks like a large wallet. It is much slower than some of the holsters that remain in the pocket, but provides better concealment, and it prints as a large rectangle, like a large wallet
I carry a number of different handguns, depending on the circumstances but my normal casual carry is a S&W 438 j frame, either in a pocket BORAII kydex holster or kydex IWB under a tshirt. I second the fellow who opined that if he feels it’s an iffy environment he puts his hand in his pocket. Walking the streets of New Orleans I also have done that and from practice, it’s out and ready very quickly. While the j frame has only 5 shots, it is small and very convenient, and very easy to carry habitually. While my other auto Carrie’s have more capacity, the reality is that anything that occurs will be a very limited exchange. In a perfect world, I prefer an OWB holster under a jacket with my Glock or CZ but again, you have to go with what fits your circumstances and, as always, better to carry something than nothing.
I think a pocket gun with a light mane to heavy. I carry a SigP938 if I need a pocket gun. That’s the smallest 9mm I can get. There are light options in 380 like the Ruger LCP’s. The Max model is a 10+1.
They are not finicky with ammo choice like most 380’s out there. This is my Sig P938

I have pocket carried a Body Guard 380 for a while in a sticky holster. I wear shorts whenever possible and you cannot tell I am carrying. I decided I wanted a few extra rounds and got the LCP Max and it’s size is damn near identical and also fits the same holster and no obvious printing…I like the trigger much more than the long pull on the BG.
I agree the Rugers are nicer. I e owned the Original LCP and the LCP II. The new 10 rounder should be fantastic.
I know this is an old post but I’m curious to what you decided on for your pocket pistol.

I pocket carried for a couple years, as like the poster said it was the only viable option. Although a belly band worked also.

I carried a Kahr CM9, and a Keltec P11, until I shot the Kahr, then unloaded the Keltec.
I could draw fairly quickly, and usually had my hand on the pistol ready to draw if I felt the need. An advantage a holster on the waist doesn’t have.
I would not add a light, laser, or extended mags to a pocket carry, you are asking for a failed draw.
Make sure you have a good carry holster and nothing else is in the pocket.
The Kahr was nice and slim and still 9mm. If you need smaller, there are 380 options.
All that said, my G3C or Glock carry easily enough now to carry on the waist every day. I can actually carry my Sig or Beretta almost as easily and I’m a small old man.
If you feel you need a light, you can find plenty at a decent price, something you could put on your waist, or a different pocket, your weak hand side.
Just practice your draw, and don’t get a P365 SAS. Any of the other 365’s, just read of too many people regretting trying that sighting system.

Funny how so many guys want to get the smallest pistol they can, then load it up with crap. After market mag well, red dot, compensator, or threaded barrel, extended mags and everything else they can get extended. Boggles the mind.
I pocket carry a Kahr cw380 when I'm taking the dog out for a quick walk. It took a while to figure out how to make it reliable enough to trust. Switching to Lucas grease and abandoning hollow points for FMJs has made it completely trustworthy.
What brand fmj ammo does it like?
Also did you ever try hollow point ammo loaded with the Hornady XTP bullets? The XTP bullet seems to be one of the most popular in these.
Pocket carry is most definitely a viable option. I prefer a small 9mm or 5 shot snub nose .357.
I like my Hellcat, and it can ride in the front pocket pretty nicely, but for ease of draw and the fast factor, it’s real hard to beat that little .357. Anyone who’s carried one front pocket will likely agree.
As far as anyone telling you this or that is taboo, when it comes to self defense, there’s really nothing (within reason) that’s off the table. If someone tells you different just ask them how many times they’ve had to shoot to defend.
There’s plenty of truth to more firepower being better, absolutely there is. I’m sure many of us have had times when we’d rather just sling an AR and carry that. But it’s also better to have any working firearm from .22LR on, than no gun at all. Anybody who tells you different is a retard.
