To me and I'm not important but if someone wants to talk about something call it the right name. I've been calling it CHP since I got mine when they started years ago.
Seems like Every state has their own acronym. My former commie state would call it an LTC (License To Carry) but then many towns would put restrictions on when one could actually carry a concealed weapon

I've got no doubt that if it gets to his desk, JBE is gonna veto it again. "As we still mourn the tragic deaths of innocents in Buffalo, we must recognize that more guns on the street is not the answer." He's the worst kind of pantywaist simp Democrat that falls in line lock-step with the party playbook, and being Louisiana, as someone else above stated, some leverage will be applied on some other legislative deal and we'll once again get told what's best for us by those who believe they know better, because they're mostly pantywaist simps as well.
Ur right, he is a Dum. Somebody should ask JBE to explain how a mass shooter occurs in a state (NY) with some of the toughest anti-gun laws/restrictions on their citizens.

Just curious, have you offered anything to this discussion, or do you just read through the posts and correct everyone that you determine has made a mistake?

It's easy to scroll through the posts and find errors, but I'm wondering if you have contributed any pertinent information?

So I am late to the party but correct me if I am wrong. I just read the text for SB 143 and it appears that on this one permitless carry only applies to current and former members of the armed forces. Is this the case?

I thought that it applies to LA residents and non-residents that are military? I’ll re-read again at some point today and check

Looks like this one is ready for full house vote

Curious as to whether or not the tragedy in TX will slow it stop this from passing?

i believe its not illegal for the following

I think you're right. Permitless carry for all others is in HB37.

Our legislature should be informed, if they have missed it about our rights of self protection.
This news article sent to your representative may just help.

There is a significant difference between a CHP and a CWP as I understand it.

It is my understanding that I can only carry a pistol or revolver concealed.

I can not carry an SBR concealed. I can not carry a suppressed pistol concealed.

I wish we were able to conceal carry any weapon, as I would like to carry a .22 pistol suppressed in a shoulder holster while hiking. I don't wish to OC it, as it will scare the sheeple.

I do believe we will have CCC this year. Amending the bill to include teachers is a good thing while this issue is fresh in everyone's mind. They now know what most of us have known for a very long time, "you're on your own", "no one is coming to save you".

I've read SB143 a few times and it clearly reads "a Louisiana resident" in the first paragraph. It also mentions while being in the military or National Guard or other service and many other stipulations but for me the way I read it, it includes Louisiana resident.

But if you read the wording at the beginning, it clearly says that a permit is not required if "all of the following conditions are met". Then it goes on to list the residency, no felony, and active duty or prior military. It does not say "if any or met". It says "if all" are met.
