In addition to almost all US reps and senators being drunk on money and power, there are many that lack an appropriate level of intelligence. (I’m not claiming that I have superior intelligence but I do believe that I am at least average.). There are certain jobs/positions/roles in our country that desperately need a minimum IQ requirement such as political offices, jury members, et al. Watching the US House of Representatives circus/debacle yesterday, it is extremely apparent that many members lack the needed intellect to appropriately fulfill their duties.

This is a push before midterms to paint republicans as school shooter sympathizer’s to protect their own rights. The legislation will not pass, and was thrown as a simple Hail Mary to help Biden recover from his failed promises and low approval rating. As many would agree I’m sure, it seems unreasonable that a 20 year old white male can walk into a gun store and walk out with the power to destroy lives for being misunderstood. Some kind of responsible legislation needs to be passed, maybe background checks that take a few months of waiting. People have the right to own guns, but not the right to swing psychologically to a point they can murder children and innocent people in a moment. I guess is it reasonable for our freedom to equal that sacrifice? I guess as long as they are not our family members it’s all good?

So many of us are "certain" it won't pass the Senate, but how do we know. I think the sheer number of "mass" shootings we've been having is too great of a number that many of the politicians constituents will demand action. Which may sway them to vote for a AWB

Your opinion and lack there of assures me of the lack of intelligence in this community. Based in response alone the weapons should be removed

    WOW.

I'm in my 40s, have owned Guns since my early-20s that I passed background checks for.
Yes, I still own them. Haven't bought another firearm since.

Mass/school shooters are not like me. I would NEVER do anything like that. I can not wrap my head around how/why any human could ever commit such a crime. It absolutely boggles me.

If you feel disarming YOURSELF would prevent a tragedy, then you definitely should disarm yourself because obviously you lack the mental capacity to be a responsible Gun Owner.

With all the crime in Our world, I know being armed is my best chance of defending myself and those in my household against an attacker/invader.

Do a little research on carjackings, violent attacks, home invasions, all across the country, and compare that to the number of school/mass shootings across the country. Then observe the number of people who defend themselves with their firearm, against an attacker. Weigh the odds against the numbers.

I'm thinking you're either a troll looking to try to "red flag" people on Gun forums, or you're a troll looking to "red flag" people on Gun forums.

Just for giggles lets look at real numbers before we call this an epidemic or some other silly word that doesn't apply. If you don't like this source then find one you do like. I've checked many and they're consistant. Deaths from mass shootings are just north of 1,000 In the last 40 YEARS. Given a US population of more than 330,000,000 I'd say that this is not the crisis they claim. The premise also assumes that 100% of these events were with AR-15s, which we know to be false.
