So apparently a Detective, of the NOPD, is laying pipe with Mayor Latoya Cantrell, in our city owned apartment. While on the clock. This detective is a part of the Mayor's security detail.

This misuse of government funds is being investigated by, . . . , The NOPD. The same NOPD for which Vappie works, and which Cantrell is in charge of.



Only in NOLA.

Saw that yesterday on a Fox 8/Zurik news report. They bust em bigger than chit. Vappie on the clock from 0800 to 2000 most everyday, and he spends sometimes 4 hours laying up with Cantrell in the apartment. Fox 8 has hundreds of hours of video of surveillance, public camera monitoring the front doors in and out. No other security team member for Cantrell goes into the apartment, period. She also appointed him Commissioner of some department. Cantrell is so dirty in so many ways. I sure hope local news keeps up the heat on her. Investigations and surveillance. Vappie also flew 1st class with Cantrell on one business trip, which the city paid for.

Vappie's wife has already filed her formal petition for a divorce in court, someone already posted a copy of the court papers on Facebook. To be sure, other NOLA mayors -- including her immediate predecessor Mitch -- were the subject of widespread rumors about their extramarital shenanigans. But this Mayor apparently never heard the advice, "If you can't be discreet, don't cheat!"

Someone should tell her to get a copy of expense reports for the hotel room or rooms, and then get with the hotel to see when the hotel keys were used. I bet there's just one room, and if there was two I bet one was not opened.

Oh, most definitely! I read that link and couldn't believe the audacity of someone asking about the ethical issues of a reporter using appropriate resources to expose shenanigans that public officials and employees are up to. I'd be embarrassed to sign my name to such a request.
