    §1796. Preemption of state law

    A. No governing authority of a political subdivision shall enact after July 15, 1985, any ordinance or regulation more restrictive than state law concerning in any way the sale, purchase, possession, ownership, transfer, transportation, license, or registration of firearms, ammunition, or components of firearms or ammunition; however, this Section shall not apply to the levy and collection of sales and use taxes, license fees and taxes and permit fees, nor shall it affect the authority of political subdivisions to prohibit the possession of a weapon or firearm in the commercial establishments and public buildings enumerated in R.S. 40:1379.3(N).

If they pass that ordinance, I bet a lawsuit or two will soon be filed. They clearly cannot do that.
The ordinance passed unopposed, with two council members not present. The video below begins when they start pontificating about how the ordinance is needed and they go on and on about how you can own a gun, just not irresponsibly.

This law, as with many others in NOLA will only apply to white people

So if a juveniles breaks into my home, or car, and steals a firearm, I can be prosecuted.

"Why is Nola overrun with crime?"

Because a lot of criminals live there?

Sorry. Sometimes I feel compelled to post stupid s**t.
But its not stupid sh*t. There is a lot of criminals in NOLA, and the justice system there is broken, in so many ways. Mayor Cantrell has been caught lying and cheating by the news media numerous times, and spending city money wrecklessly, and to her own personal advantage. She chose her new NOPD chief for two reasons exclusively, black woman. Not based on qualifications, but BC of her race and sex. Cantrell is corrupt to the core. The city council is all over her now after Fox8 news reports and coverage. And the ongoing recall challenge.

Jason Williams (NOLA DA) was under investigation by the Feds when they elected him. Didn't matter to majority of NOLA voters one iota. Williams is proven ineffective in a very short time. He and his law partner (Burdette) lie and cheat, so there you go. Burdette was recently convicted in fed court. The new NOLA Sheriff (black female) shuts down the criminal courts for the slightest reasons, has occurred a couple times in the last 12 months. NOLA criminal courts = revolving door justice system. Arrested persons get out of jail easily because of system crowding/overload.

Short of the National Guard armed and patrolling, its not going to get better either going forward. Widespread corruption and a dysfunctional justice system. NOPD officer #s low BC who wants to arrest perps and see them back on the streets in days or weeks? Who in their right mind wants to be LE in NOLA?

They should keep Woodfork as NOPD chief, she is perfect for the job. Says Cantrell. NOLA is the current murder capital of the USA, based on per capita pop data. A crown well earned. NOLA's future is not very bright, imo.
