So... She's on probation for 2 yrs for a misdemeanor. She's not a felon and gun rights haven't been permanently taken from her. She can't own one during her probation though.

Question is - Can I bring my firearm on my person into her home or would I be somehow breaking a law or getting her in trouble at all. Of course she wouldn't have access or be shooting it or anything.
Just to be on the safe side buy a personal 1 gun safe that only allows your fingerprint to open or one with a code.

Are the stipulations of her probation that she cannot "own" or that she cannot "possess" a firearm?

Either way so long as you don't allow her access to the firearm, my interpretation is that she's not in violation of her probation.

...That being said, I would recommend she call her probation officer or consult an attorney if you think there is a chance that she could get in legal trouble.

Based on the info you provided, there's no reason she could get in trouble. You bringing a firearm on your person into her house does not transfer ownership of the firearm to her.

You may want to see if the court gave her some paperwork to see what it says specifically.

Sounds like it’s about time for a new girlfriend to me…
That was my first thought lol.

What are the terms of her probation? Does she have a PO checking in on her or does she just have to report to one every so often? 2 years seems like a long time for a misdemeanor. I’ll ask what everyone is wondering though, what the hell did she do? lol

Y'all, don't dog on the man's girlfriend lol. Stuff happens to people; sometimes they don't deserve it sometimes they do. There are so many people who have had their lives ruined, gotten criminal records, lost jobs, and faced embarrassment and fees...for stuff like Possession of a Joint/a Bag of Weed. A lot of people are still paying for that kind of stuff, literally, and the Supreme Court of the US keeps supporting the 2A and Cannabis users, it's legal in most States and Louisiana has a Medical program now.

Just as riverrat66 said. I asked my brother who is a P.O in Mississippi. He said there’s no violation unless something in her documents specifically mention it but depending on the mood of her PO they could give her a hard time about it

It's hard to have sympathy for people who have knowingly and intentionally broken the law, especially knowing that it is enforced.

Whenever I speed, I am willing to accept the consequences of speeding. If someone possesses weed (that they likely bought from a dealer, not a dispensary) and gets caught with it, they should be willing to accept the consequences that you posted above.

those consequences are unjust and cause distrust and division within society and over law enforcement. I understand your feelings, and if the laws were just I would agree.

Those consequences are known. How are they unjust? And how do they cause distrust and division.

Seems like we've been down this road, a few times.
Just because a law exists, does not mean it is just. Everyone will have different interpretations of what is justified based on their life experiences and / or knowledge on the subject matter.
However, dealing with the given example in particular, marijuana laws, it is very hard to consider any law against marijuana just, no matter your experience in the subject, so long as you hold the knowledge of the fact that
    A) alcohol and other more dangerous substances are perfectly legal
    B) it is a 100% naturally occurring substance with many positive / beneficial uses that far outweigh any negative effects
    C) war on drugs - no further comment needed
