... great looking pistol..... personally have not had any experience with anything to do with black powder...... Neat video... you showed real life and not some type of professional production...... Nice looking holster... Will it continue the journey with the pistol or will you keep it................... drill sgt.

Thanks. Yeah, I am not a fancy production. Just regular guy who likes shooting.

It will continue on it's journey once my time is done.

Congrats brother! What an honor! I don’t wanna give any direction, but have you thought about leaving your mark in the way of a custom holster? Again, I’m way out of place to even suggest it, I know. Just a thought. Enjoy your time with a piece of history. We are all green with envy.
EDIT: I should have read through all the posts first. Good on you. Hope the new holster will fit in the box!

Yep, the first thing I did was make it a holster. I am planning on sending it with the gun if I can make it work.

Not a reproduction, but a real Remington New Model Army that has travelled the world. Union issued, Confederate captured, and came home from the war with my 3rd great grandfather. Before I got it, a cousin who was career military had it and took it around the world with him. His daughter, who passed it to me a few years ago said she knows it has been to Japan (where she was born), England, and two tours in Vietnam. I’ve written the story down and it goes with the pistol.

Probably the first time they had been this close to each other in 100 yesrs
