“if you sell guns predominantly to earn a profit, you must be licensed and you must conduct background checks.”
The new rule will expand the definition of who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms and now required to conduct background checks—for example, sellers who “repetitively” sell firearms within 30 days of their purchase, or sell guns that are new or “like new” and in their original packaging.

my guess is no. Except for a few people. :)

95% of my guns are like new or better. Even my 1955 Garand (#s matching like new-collectors grade CMP no long sells) and 1944 1903A4 clone is like new.
My Colt SP1 Car-15 with mint Colt wing nut-carry handle scope.
My Colt H-bar bought before the Clinton cravings of gun makers, era has box papers and is mint with a Colt scope as well.
Like new in box old model Ruger Bearcat
    Just examples
So if I sell for more than way back when I have to do background?
So I get punished for being a law abiding person who takes care of his stuff? What about inflation? Oh silly me Old Slow Joe said there is non.
I am sure all the criminals will be getting background checks when thet sell there's too. It's the law. Make a law they will obey it. God knows thet are worried about that one more extra charge. That Will Stop Them! We need more law's.......

That is a breif snippet of what it actually says. Why the edit?
Because its the most important part to what we are discussing. Unless you are in the business of buying and selling guns for a profit, which I assume you aren't, then its a hobby or collecting.

How is that an edit ? You want me to copy and paste the entire 12 paragraph article to speak about a sentence ??

No, I think what you posted is more than enough to get the point across.

Because the way i read it the " personal collection" changes were in reference to gun dealers personal collection. I mean it says in the rules that the term " personal collection"has been redefined. So are you saying the rule changes are just the same rules as before the change?

A receipt has nothing to do with this. I can walk into a gun store and buy a gun (on a 4473) and tell them I dont need a receipt. A private sale and a receipt have nothing to do with this regulation, its the intent of the sale.

I honestly have no idea what you are saying here.

All of this is to make the rules vague and scare people way from selling their guns. Basically your gun collection is worthless now because you can't sell it without fear of going to jail.
I agree with this Xeon, but moreso for a paper trail of all sales with 4473. I think that's the endgame.
