1534 Latin Vulgate Bible printed in Lyon France by Nicholas Parut.
The bible was owned by carpet magnate Michael Tomkinson who died in 1921. He collected a lot of things, including Japanese art as well as old books. This Bible was sold at Sotheby’s in 1922; then again in 1980 now to me.
You shouldnt have to be religious to appreciate the history. Im lucky to own it.
