    I have property across from it happened. Unfortunately I can almost guarantee some one was liquored up. I also heard that the party barge may have not had lights on. We have several river bars in the area, the closest being Boopalu's which is right down the river from the marina/neighborhood they wrecked in front of. I moved out because it gets wild with the out of town party crowd during the summer.
    The other thing is the lack of enforcement on that wakezone at night during the summer. Which is wild to me because the trout troopers and LPSO have a little substation right across from Boopalu's boat launch. It's long, mostly straight, and wide so people think it's alright to blow through it.

    One of my friends at work knows one person on each of the boats. Both of them survived with minor injuries.
    I was told the party barge was lit up. The bay boat center punched the party barge.

    On summer weekends it’s almost just as bad. Nighttime just gets worse. I have a place on the Amite river. I’ve witnessed things you would not believe.
    Anymore if I happen to be on the water during a weekend, it’ll be an early morning fishing venture, off the water before most folks have time to get liqueured up.

    I normally see Acension and Livingston parish as well as LA wildlife and fisheries heading to the launches to haul out well before late evening.

    More and more "details" coming out, but they're all message board postings, not news outlets. Some of the comments that I saw Sunday afternoon were just asinine.

    "I heard they'd participated in the Tickfaw 200"--Which is held the first weekend of May.

    "They'd probably all been drinking Worm buckets at Prop Stop all day" Prop Stop has not been open this year. At all.

    Way too much of this s**t going on, people drinking (or otherwise impaired) while operating. WTF people?!?

    I've been saying it for years; so many people doing so much stupid s**t is why so many people from other states talk s**t about people from Louisiana.

    Louisiana is absolutely amazing, but we have entirely too many residents making horrible decisions. The vast majority of the s**t can be avoided simply by being better people.
