I asked the same question 4 days and over 70 post ago.
The only hint of an answer I have gotten so far was about building a relationship based on trust with the officer. I'm not eaxctly sure I understand how that keeps any one safer, but it seemed like an honest attempt to answer the question.
If a man is a danger to society WITH a firearm, then is he not a danger to society with out one as well? And if he is a danger to society, should he be part of it?

I have never "pre-cleaned". I just sort by caliber with a stacked tray system in a 5 gallon bucket. This process involves some jostling, shaking, and handling the empty cases that will often dislodge trash.
As for cleaning, I used to use dry media in a vibrating tumbler, then for a while...
Is the brass separated by caliber? If not already, do so before you try any sort of cleaning. 9mm cases stuck in 45acp cases can be frustrating! Is this a "pre-clean" you are trying to accomplish before a finale clean?
