      Friday Night's Crawfish Étouffée Dinner

That’s what I’m talking about. Like this way compared to boiled, but I was fortunate to eat boiled crawfish in December and January. I say fortunate because the price of crawfish at that time was beyond ridiculous. My cousin has ponds so through his generosity I was a happy camper.

      Scope for my deer rifle

Like SVT, my eyes are not good enough to see a deer when it get late so I don’t really take shots at that time. I’m interested in the firefly scopes though as I think it’s a good option for late hunts.

      Scope for my deer rifle

Tract scopes are a good optic for what you are looking for. I like Leupold also, but for what you are looking for may be a little bit over 400. I think if you do a little research you will find lots of good scopes in the 400 dollar range. I like good glass, but let’s be honest and say that most...

      Cheapest 22lr

I have both of those models also and they are about even out of the box new. 10/22 rifles are much easier to upgrade as they make endless accessories for them. I think a 10/22 with an after market trigger would make it more accurate than the Marlin 60.

Gone, gone, gone !!!! 5/4 tongue and groove treated boards

Has to be a do it yourself person out there that could use some tongue and groove for a project.

Gone, gone, gone !!!! 5/4 tongue and groove treated boards

2/12/24. The boards are gone. I have a pile of treated 5/4 tongue and groove boards I removed from my porch. They are in good to fair shape and could be used for a variety of projects. Deer stands, deck at the old cabin, wall in the work shop. I only removed them because I poured concrete for...

      Squirrels,suppressed.

I’m running a Leopold Freedom Rimfire. I think it’s a 2-7 power. It does have an adjustable parralex on it. I usually leave it on 25 yds. It’s a great scope and plenty enough to shoot a squirrel in the eye. I don’t know if they make this model anymore but they make something close to this.

      Makes you wonder ….

I was removing my EDC knife from my pocket and noticed that a bee had found its way into the hole at the end of the handle of the knife. How this could happen is beyond me. I use the knife all day long working around the house and shop and sometimes in the bee yard but for a bee to tuck itself...

      Smoked swine

Wowza my man! That looks amazing. What wrap is around the meat ? What’s your method for cooking it, or more simply, how did you cook that masterpiece. Kudos to you also for helping out that family. So many good people in this world.

A man’s gotta eat my friend, ha ha. Is that true, if so I’d like to read about it.

      Squirrels,suppressed.

My CZ in the pic is the first one I owned and it is a very very accurate rifle. The only thing I would do different is buy one with a regular wood stock, as the weight on this rifle is too heavy to be walking the wood with. I’ve looked at changing the stock out but a factory replacement is not...

      Squirrels,suppressed.

How do you like that Ruger American? I’ve been wanting one for a long time as I can share the magazines with my 10/22. I’m always looking for deal so I have not procured one yet, but when I see what my feeble mind thinks is a good deal I’ll grab one. I’m a big Ruger fan and have enjoyed...

4 national parks in 4 days (pics included)

Colorado is definitely a place everyone should visit. It has everything a traveler can ask for. We did the almost identical trip in 22 I think. My kids are grown also so we have really ramped up the travel. At some point as we grow older we just won’t be able to go as much so we are gonna do it...

4 national parks in 4 days (pics included)

Some of the best trips are the ones made on short notices. Sometimes you just pack the car and head out and look for adventure. We have a beautiful country, you just have to get after it and go see it.

Chasing some bushy tails with my first love. Pics included

Cute little rascal. Once I took some kind of test which showed you which animal you were and I was a squirrel. My wife says it was a perfect match.

      The elusive snipe

When we have what I consider more normal winters, nature gets back in rhythm and awesome things take place.

      The elusive snipe

With the cold weather that moved in the snipe came also. While working around the shop last week I noticed a good many snipe hanging around the yard surrounding the shop. It’s been many a year since we’ve seen this type of activity. They love cold days and moist ground which aids them in finding...
