      M1 Carbine Replica Ruger 10/22

Thanks for your help with getting the sights on and the stock dremeled to fit, but I think you're forgetting that the m1/22 is technically mine until the wedding. That said, Eabco has rather poor customer service. I never did get a response to my email asking about what to do with the...

      WTT Steyr M9

Any chance you'd take cash for it? (If so, how much?) An M9 would be a lot of fun, but I wouldn't trade my S9 for anything.

      WTB ugly 10/22

Hi there! I'm looking to get used Ruger 10/22 to have as a loaner gun for taking a friend to an Appleseed event and to use instead of my bolt gun if I fail to score marksman by so very few points again. As long as the gun functions and isn't particularly rusty I don't care how ugly it is on...

      Academy-Black Friday

A friend of ours was told that it was "state law" that Academy couldn't sell her a .22LR rifle with her out of state driver's license. It very nearly broke her heart. The very next day Cabella's confirmed that they could, in fact, legally sell her the very same gun and would be more than...

      First handgun advice

Well you know if you did go for the 9mm, you could share. I mean that. As long as you let me steal from your box of 7.62x39 you could steal from my box of 9mm. And it would be one less variety to have to look for constantly.

      Official Louisiana Swine Flu Thread

If you use twitter, the CDC is very good about speedy updates from their feed.

The other 10/22 thread got me thinkin....

I've been tempted for some time now to get a relatively inexpensive .22 just to try to learn how to use Duracoat. My general plan was to make a 10/22 or similar bright purple to keep Leethar from borrowing it. Having a gun to tinker with would be fun though - if just because of the endless...

Any advice on keeping a gun in the car?

I envy your center console. My tiny little car just plain doesn't have one.

2009 State Legislative Bills of Interest

Our legislature's bill tracking is superior to the national legislature. It's something we can really be proud of and it's great to see it being used. The bills you see on the website are the same ones that the legislature uses. They're updated live.

Jefferson Parish gets 150 Colt M4's for Patrol Cars

Easier to store maybe? The safe only holds 13"? The guy in charge of choosing is a midget and thought the longer ones were too big? I don't know. Neat that they got them anyway - they look like a lot of fun. Awkward though that they did this while it seems there's more news about budget...

      The Art of Concealed Carry...

Isn't that the same risk as carrying a purse at all though? My keys are in there. If they managed to get my purse they'd get my car, my drivers license, credit cards, cell phone and I'd be stranded. At least I'd still have my pepper spray. The problem with 90% of what most other women...

      The Art of Concealed Carry...

That's the best thing I've seen asked yet. So yeah. How do you carry if you're female? All the taticool specialty clothing I've seen is either designed and sized for men only, or was designed by men who actually have no idea what a woman looks like or feels comfortable wearing and stole their...

      Steyr question - answered

Thanks for the high compliment. I still feel like such a beginner. :hs: Like I said, it's been months of nothing but .22, my baseline for what's normal and acceptable is long gone. While I noticed quite a bit of it that might just be from my skewed feel for what's normal. If I happened...

      Steyr question - answered

And it's just right. So I went to the range today and came up with a few conclusions. They're in no real particular order. #1: I need better hearing protection. What works outdoors is a total failure inside. Ouch. #2: I need to practice. It's been months since the last time I fired a...

      First handgun advice

You definitely have a lot more experience than I do, but honestly I despised the Mark II and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I don't know anything about the Mark III, but I do know that the Mark II was a bit more headache than is worth messing with. The ones used in the LSU marksmanship...

      Steyr question - answered

I intend to go shoot this gun after I get out of class tomorrow. I've been stuck at home making sure nobody decides that since it's open to the carpenters it's fair game. They should be painting the exterior tomorrow, weather permitting, so I'll finally be free.

Ended up getting a used S instead. It may be used, but it doesn't look like it was used much.

Sks 7.62 thanks for the help

Out of the entire pile, my BF's Yugo SKS with all original parts is my favorite to shoot. I cannot recommend it any more than that. I find it much more fun than the AR and much less painful than the Nagant. It's a nice in between gun. It's a lot of fun, and I don't think you'll regret it.
