Remington 870 Build

My hunting shotguns are Benelli and Mossberg and I've never owned a Remington 870. I've been on the lookout for one at a decent price and found a one on gun broker that I decided to give in to. It's in pretty good condition with only a couple of dings in the original stock. The only negative to it I supposed was that it hasn't had a good cleaning in a while. I took it for a few test rounds and it worked without a hitch.

Magpul Front sling attachment (mounts to barrel/mag extension)

Getting it cerakoted in burnt bronze/graphite this week and will put it all together and post updated pics.

Sounds like a fun project.

I bought the 6+1 tactical model and did a few mods to mine.

-elzetta light mount w/streamlight polytac
- wilson combat mag follower & 6 shell holder
- blackhawk stock

I have more fun shooting my 870 than any of my other guns.

My 870 is a true truck gun. I have a speed feed stock on it now that I'm about to replace with a Remington Shurshot set, got an extension tube and sling and thinking about dura coating the steel with something really dark green.

i got an 870, looking to do about the same, maybe not color. Where did you get it cerakoted and do you recommend anyone in particular to saw off barrel.

There's a guy here in Monroe that did mine. I went to his house to see his shop before I gave him my gun and he is definitely legit. He explained the whole process to me and showed me some of his work. I couldn't be happier with how mine turned out. I also got him to do the cylinder and trigger on my j-frame.

Getting my 10/22 and M&P done soon. I can send you his contact info if you want it.

As far as barrel, I would get a shop to do it or you can buy an 18" barrel on gun broker for around $150 or less shipped.

Yea, send me his info on pm. Ive got a local guy that i buy most all of my firearms through and he gave me a price of $75 to cut, rethread, etc, so i probably will go is way. We are on first name basis and I trust him. But will definitely look into that guy, even though I am north of Baton Rouge.

I still have an 18 1/2" barrel and a 2 rd extension for an 870 if anyone wants to buy one. I no longer own an 870 so I have no more use for it. Just pm me if you're interested. I'll sell them both together for less than $100 and will throw in the pistol grips for free
