My daughter is selling her 1999 VW Jetta. It is the newer body style (MK IV). It runs great and gets about 44 miles per gallon on the highway. It has new front bushings and Struts/Springs with front end alignment. She uses only Mobil 1 synthetic oil every 5000miles. The Engine was changed out at about 200,000 with another diesel engine from a 2002 model that had 150,000 miles on it. The reason for changing it out was a jumped timing belt that locked up the engine. New timing belt was installed at that time on the replacement engine along with a new clutch, and all new filters. It has a new HD battery which cost about $250. Aftermarket head unit on stereo system. A/C does not work now for some reason which I think is minor due to it working for the last 2 years with no problems and then going out with no warning. I checked the freon level and it is full. I can include a replacement compressor that came with the replacement engine. The total miles on the replacement engine is at about 165,000. She has no known problems and the car drives great. A trunk latch needs to be ordered so that the trunk can be opened and it will cost about $60. The trunk can be accessed from the back seat. All in All, this would make a great work car because the body has been abused by other driver's and one mishap while over-correcting and ending up in a small ditch. I just drove it to the Hammond area yesterday and back home today and it is a very reliable vehicle. SOLD SOLD SOLD
