Aimpoint looks better. The Eotech aims faster and has a larger and smaller MOA aperture so I think it has an edge in sight picture and faster on target time. The Aimpoint isn't far behind it. It really comes down to personal preference.

My eyes are slowly getting worse as I age (I'm on 27 :( ) and I think the reticle of the Eotech is more readily usable without glasses contacts. That means something to me for a self-defense weapon because if someone is busting in I don't want to have to grab my glasses LOL.

    The EOtech can be faster.

The Aimpoint has a vastly longer battery life.

By most reports, Aimpoint edges the Eotech in durability.

    Take your pick.

I own both and like them both for different reasons. My Aimpoint is on my Socom 16 M1A. I put it on this gun because the Aimpoint will stand up to heat better and it just plain looks cool on a Socom. Plus, the Socom is my go to gun and I dont want to have to worry about battery life, which the Aimpoint rules. I have an EOTech on a Middy AR. It's really fast on target and again, just looks really cool on an AR. They both get the job done.

You pays your money and makes your choice.

I chose the base level EOTech for the following reasons:
    • Economical
    • Battery life even on the N cells is no deal-breaker...so I have to change batteries twice a year. Pay a little more and get the AA version for longer life...me, I'll change batteries more often.
•Works great and super-fast from up-close to small steel flashers at over 125 yards thanks to its MOA dot...for competitions with COFs longer than that, I need my AR with the 1.5x5 scope anyway.
    • Plenty sturdy for my uses...I have a hammer if I want to pound nails :D.

    As always, YMMV.

I have an Aimpont clone and love it. It even says Aimpoint and has a red dot. You can make the dot green too.
