They take Thompson stick mags. I have shot a few of them. They are no where near as heavy as a true Tommy but the same horrible ergonomics. The lowers are plastic on some of them. They are very picky on ammo. Had to repair a friends, simple guts. $300 max.

The bluebook is a good reference book for a lot of firearms but is unrealistic for collectable models. That gun is not a collectable.
It might be worth 500 if he takes it to a gunsmith and has it restored to at least 98% condition. If something breaks, you might be able to find parts for it. I think they are just taking advantage of the increase in prices of semi-autos that occured because of Obamarama.
If you want a thompson model--the auto ordinance models are good.
That Volunteer 45 looks just like the one that my buddy had in his pawnshop back in the 80's.
If you really want it, I'd offer 250-300 and an added good luck to selling it for 500, but only if it has more than one magazine with it.

Hey now that is my trunk with all my survival gear. Beer huggy, flotation device, fix a flat, jumper cables, cold weather gear, christmas stocking, book of CDs, I cant tell you what is in the bag as I dont know myself it is that secret. I gave him back the gun at lunch.

Heck, if he doesn't want it I'll take the Free one.:D

I think I know where I can scrounge up a stock!

Im going to link up with him and get it, if you know where a stock might be handy and willing to point me in the direction it would be gratefully appreciated.
