    Have a 1904 PORTUGUESE MAUSER in 6.5x58mm(Portuguese).
rifle never saw military service.......it was in Africa and somehow made it to Canada.....couple dings on stock but pristine bore and bluing =95%.
I form brass from remington / winchester .30-06 brass.......bit of a p.i.t.a. but results well worth it.
shoots 140 cast gc rn , 120 ,140 balastic tips and core locks......even came up with a bunch of 160gr. round nose ''cruise-missles''..,264'' .......... As soon as it warms up and snow melts up in the mountains, its going bear hunting..........figure being 76,I should use an old guy's rifle Eh !!

That's a cartridge/rifle that is basically unheard of around here but does sound interesting.
I don't know that I would want to hunt grizzle bears with that caliber but should be fine for black bear..
