I am thinking about getting a TRP Springfield. Any out of the box 1911 you've seen in training work from start to finish?

The TRP is a good pistol. I have seen several function well in high round count vigorus training evolutions. I think it may be over-priced but most 1911's are. /i'd try to find a used one before I would buy a new one. If you have your heart set on the TRP you could do much worse. My only caveat would be the MIM extractor. Springfield and Kimber both use a MIM extractor that is to soft IMO. Neither holds tension well. Before you take the plunge on the New TRP you may want to look around for a good deal on a used Les Baer TRS or for a few Hundred Bucks more a used Springfield Pro. I should do a post on buying a used 1911 and getting it tuned-up for bidness.
