    Interesting.

GUN HANDLING AT YOUR CAR IS PROHIBITED: Your car is NOT a Safety Area! Gun handling at your car will incur a MDQ (10.5.1). Uncase and holster (or unholster and case) your gun only in a designated Safety Area, or on the line under R.O. supervi-sion. (2.4.1, 8.3.1, 10.5.1).

What if you are carrying concealed? Obviously you can't bring a loaded gun to a safe area....

Gearing up and holstering your match gun in the parking lot outside your car is an obvious match DQ....that's what safety areas are for and that's what this is addressing. This is a rule for any match and you'll see it addressed for the Gator as well. And be forewarned, you CAN be DQed for this even after you've finished all your stages. According to the rulebook, the match is not officially over until scores have been posted or the winners announced.

Usually a distinction is made between discrete CC within a car and someone in the parking lot outside of the car (or inside the car) gearing up. Some ranges may not recognize this distinction.

    Concealed means concealed ;)

Personally, to avoid any potential issues, I would not drive into a match with a CC gun in a holster on my body. No gun handling = no problem.
