the wife sent me to kmart and to fill the water jugs about 30 seconds after i had already removed my mtac so i just threw on my blackhawk cqc owb and headed out. i went to kmart, walked around, went to get some meds, went to the back to check out some reels, walked out, went fill the jugs, talked to a guy, left, came home.

nothing eventful. no old women fainted. no kids cried. my gun didn't even accidentally go off and kill 3 dogs.

    amazing. :eek3:

btw, i was in jeans and a t-shirt fwiw.

When I take my car to Bennies Car Wash on Essen I open carry my XD 45. I get a few glances but nothing significant. I'm clean cut mid 40's. Maybe they think i'm a LEO. Once a deputy sheriff was there and saw my pistol. Just a nod and a glance. Try that in San Francisco.

Spanky, I heard once you get a ccw permit you give up the right to open carry. That is what one of the instructors said at my class. Can someone shed light on this? I want to know if this is true or :bs:

    Unmitigated BS, all the way.

Anyway, Spanky, you must be putting us on.

You mean to tell us that no hyper-ninja gun-snatching uber-thugs did silent somersaults up behind you and took your weapon and shot you with it?

    I'm calling:

If you see him again, tell him Louisiana Carry has a $1000 reward for anyone who can show us that in LA law. No strings attached.

My contact info is available on my web sites.

That's not a new one on you, LSP.

Me and you met during a 10 page discussion about this very subject.

Randy (the last guy over the CHP unit) told me the same thing on the phone.

    However, it is still WRONG.

(I am sure Randy is a good guy, I am just saying it is wrong). He said that he would consider a holstered openly carried weapon "brandishing."

When it comes to open carry, there's such a thing as "right," and there's such a thing as immature.

Get a holster and cover it with a shirt or a jacket. Sheesh.

Then it becomes concealed. And you better have a concealed carry permit then!!

yeah, don't mess around when it comes to concealing w/o a permit...that is not good.

Open Carrying is a very interesting feeling.

I was told that you give up OC as well. (by a B.R. police officer)

Something about if you expose your weapon while carrying concealed, you can then claim you were open carrying.
