While I normally use the .270 deer hunting I finally got my Suppressed 16" 300 Blackout build in a stand this season. Had to pass on a couple of 8pt Bucks(Club rules)...but had this 130lb doe walk out right at sundown. Used a hand loaded 110g Barnes TAC-TX bullet. Was a 100yd shot and she ran 35yds into woods. Bullet had a good size exit wound with a lot of blood loss.
Looking forward to having a shot at a big one later this season.

Good kill. I did a test just 2 weeks ago on a hunt. I brought my rem. 700 aac-sd 5r-rifled .300 blackout and we shot through my kestrel .308 can. I have a bdc optic and set it on at the 110 Hornady V-max and then tested the drop of the 220 subs and marked on scope. I shot a 265 lb boar in the neck with the 220 sub and dropped him clean. The rifle is INCREDIBLY quiet with it. Now we drove up 2 hours later and that hog started kicking! We were SHOCKED. Ruptured spine with no hydra shock and he was down, but it didn't bleed nearly at all. Since it was on the ground I used another sub in the front shoulder and then a 110 in the rear leg (he was stinking and we didn't plan on keeping so we donated him to science). The 110 went clean through the femur and all through the cavity with great expansion and damage, but no hydra shock (from 10 feet!). The 220 grain in the shoulder DID NOT PASS THROUGH THE CARTILIDGE PLATE OF THE HOG'S SHOULDER!!!! 220 subs will be retained only for extremely close range self defense from my blackout pistol now. I would like to try a 220 grain ballistic or soft tip before giving up, but I'll tell you the Remington brand 220's are not to be used for game.

    Cool.
Yea, most of the 200+ grain subs will not expand at those velocities. However, Lehigh defense makes a subsonic bullet (194g I think) designed for expansion. I'll see if I can put a link on here.

Nice kill and good info on the round. I'm still on the fence at the moment, but I have time to debate myself while I come up with some cash.

You know if you turn that scope mount around, it will put the whole mount on the upper receiver instead of half upper/half rail. Might not make a bit of difference, but it could.

Good shoot, cant wait to get my suppressor.

Nice harvest. I like the 300BO for deer sized game. I use the supersonic rounds for deer and have had great success. I have some of the Lehigh rounds but have not sighted in with them yet. Sub hunting should only be a close encounter event. Shot placement is always the key.

I'll be honest I'm not liking the Remington 220 subs even from loading standpoint. I get a nice 1.5" group with them at 100 yds then I'll get a flier out to 3". I even got a primer that didn't go off in one box! Hornady 110 V-max will literally put every round in a quarter sized hole at 100 yds. Through the can and all. I'd use it to shoot anything inside 200 but it's not whisper quiet. And when I tell you whisper quiet...it is unreal how silent the combo is. Killer night varmint rifle though!

Nice rig. What you think about the supressor? Hunted for a while but they are new to me.

Very hearing safe for sure with supersonic loads. Supers are still pretty quiet...but you'll hear the crack of the bullet breaking the sound barrier as it travels down range. The 200+ grain subsonics that I load are stupid quiet...you just hear the bolt slapping back...that's it. The loads I shot for deer group very well at 100yds on paper. This is just a AR that I built for 300BLK and I did the rustoleum Camo job on it. The paint has held up very well over the last year.
I mainly shoot supers through this rifle and both supers & subs through my 9' 300BLK SBR.

Nice harvest! It sounds like you were hunting from a stand. Am I correct?

I'm curious since I'm from out west and the only place you'll get high enough out here is a telephone pole...

Yup, this was from a tree stand. Most deer hunting around our area is from stand/box/tripod, etc. some hunters use a ground blind etc.

But then he would be looking thru the wrong end of the scope. :)

Lol, actually swapped that around the day after. But it was all good...did the job.
I loaded some Hornady 125g SST's today that I'm going to test out on Saturday. LilGun & W296. I'll try to post the results in the reloading forum once I get everything down on paper.
