I now want one of these for my collection, but I know what I would have to do to get one...

WOW thats pretty sweeeeeeet, I love my conversion 357Sig Barrel and only reasson I originally purchased it was that it was hard to find ammo for a few moths around July of last year and all you could find on the shelves was 357Sig, so it was the way to go.

I like that pic a lot.

More cool than the LSP logo on our guns. The location, I mean.

One wonders why they switched calibers; the .40 fail them, or what?

At least they didn't drink the .45 GAP kool-aid.

The .357 SIG is an excellent duty round; its just too damned expensive to shoot OR load for. Phillip must have scored a huge ammo budget...

    .

Which will make you scratch your head. Since 1998, they went from the standard issue S&W Model 66, to the S&W 4046, then the Glock transition to the Model 22 and 35 and now to the Model 31...

Anyway, here are a few pics of the first guinea pigs for the new weapon (The TIGER Team).

On this pic here, I do know the the guy in the Mt Dew hat is/was my folks next door neighbor and the new Southern Regional Patrol Major. When I left, he was the Executive office at Troop M.

I got make a funny out this one. Here the Remington regional police sales rep explains how Gelatin blobs can actually fire back at the shooter if not hit with the proper round...

"This round is 100% guaranteed to protect you from hostile blocks of ballistic gelatin."

    Caption for image #3.

Does anyone REALLY think statistically there'll be any significant difference between 357 sig and 40 s&w in real world shootings?

.357 Sig would penetrate car doors better. I've read that during the prohibition era there were issues shooting through cars using the 45ACP so the 38 Super became popular.

I've heard of other highway patrol agencies using the .357 Sig for this reason. But damn, that's a lot of money to spend if its just to be a marginaly better manstopper round. Like LSP said, to damn expensive to shoot a lot.
