NEF 45-70 custom

I had the barrel cut and recrowned @ 18.5" by a gunsmith. I also had a stockmaker pare down the pistol grip and refinish with oil. Rifle is 34" overall length. Awesomely compact and easy to carry. Ms. legalized .35 cal. and up for primitive weapons so, I'm buying a 35 whelen barrel for my Encore. Rifle is topped with a Nikon[new] 4x32 scope. Asking 350.00 obo ftf. I am located in Jackson,Ms. Willing to ship to FFL from an individual for cost

sorry to side track the thread but why did you cut it? did this affect the accuracy any?

Not to be a S.A. but, to make it shorter. Barrel length has very little to do with accuracy.At least not at ranges that a 45-70 shoots. I have a 6.5x55 swedish with a
18" barrel that I shot a deer @ 363 yds. with. If I keep a rifle long enough, it will eventually get bobbeb. I can't help it, it's a disease!

Actually it can make the rifle more accurate by making the barrel stiffer but in this case its to make it handier and more compact.
I wanted to do this to the one I had but I wanted it even shorter at 16.25"

Anyways, I'm getting the rifle so BBQ--you are free to get the scope.
