Or at least someone who is pretty savy on louisiana firearms law concerning reinstatement of firearms rights. Whats the deal with the permit requirement from the sheriff of the parish you live in?
Thanks again Pangris. Ok heres the dirt, "somebody" I know real well was a +1 Moron about 17 years ago. Stole some beer from a warehouse, in a land far, far away. Had it happened here in La. it might have been handled a little differently than it was in Washington State. So this "somebody" got his act together, decided that wearing his sphincter for a necklace wasnt as cool as it was when he was much younger, and petitioned the State for reinstatement of his firearms rights. Was successful, so with his certificate of discharge, his order for reinstatement of his firearms rights, he waits several months for the databases to get caught up with each other. But goes to purchase a rifle, and is delayed by NICS, then gets a call that it was denied. So an appeal was enacted, and signing up for a Voluntary Appeal File so as to prevent this little problem from happening again. So some rereading of the La State law regarding reinstatement has some legalese that needs clarifying. Thoughts, opinions, personal experiences? Anthing? Bueller?
