Without reading the linked article I will say I adore the concept of "citizen soldier" but I'd be sceptical of ANY politician who advocated same as any and all can be misused (or was that the plan all along?). Afterall, look what they've done to the concept of "Republican", "Liberal", "Democracy" just name a few.
