Does anyone here have experience with this round? It's ballistics approach near the 10mm, and it looks like a good round for a reloader that already has guns in .45ACP.

I have a ported barrel, dies, and some loaded ammo I got from a friends wife when he passed away. I have the whole lot for sale if you're interested. Make you a good price.

From what I have read 10mm makes a fool out of 400 corbon. But it was never meant to outdo 10mm. Also it does not feed well from a doube stack mag (so no point going with it if you have a glock you plan to convert), but works fine in single stack mags. Google 400 corbon and there are some good threads on the high road and paofo or whatever that forum is named.

I'd read about its performance, but I thought the double stack issues were with 1911s. I'm looking for multi-role pistol of sorts - SD and trail gun but with affordable ammo. Maybe I'd be better off using 45 ACP and 45 Super/SMC and just change out the recoil springs.

Maybe something that does 40cal and 10mm...?

You can do that with a g21 and conversion barrels from lone wolf... And do 357sig, and 9x25 if memory serves me correctly.

it could be a 9x23, it is a some what rare ammo that is manufactured by winchester. it is supose to replicate a 357 magnum in a semi-auto. dont know how it would work in a glock tho... i have only heard of 1911 conversions

The 9x25 is a necked down 10mm, so that's probably it.

That is what I was thinking about. So with the stock g21 and 3 conversion barrels from lone wolf you can shoot 40cal and its necked down cousin 357sig and go up to 10mm and its cousin the 9x25. Personally I would have 2 different guns (and I do, g21 and g22) but I really do not see the point of having a bunch of different calibers beyond the std 9, 40, 10, 45... But variety is the spice of life so go for it!!!

400 corbon or 9x25 etc will not be affordable ammo. If you're going to be carrying this handgun on trails in La buy a 357 or 38 special revolver and be done with it. Put birdshot in the first cylinder for snakes and the rest with your preferred self defense ammo. If you need the heavier SD ammo just pull the trigger twice unlike a semi auto.

    Would G22/31 mags fit in a G21???
They aren't the same dimensions as a G21 mag, are they?

BTW, I have a .400 Cor Bon conversion barrel for my Glock 21, and it works fine....Never had any jams....

I have a 1911 I put together in .400 CORBON and my only issue is the point of impact. With a 140 gr hard cast bullet, +/- 1400 fps, it is so much higher than a .45 ACP that once I got sights that would bring the POI where I wanted it there was not much utility in being able to swap out to .45 ACP. The sights would have to be completey re-adjusted.
Anyway, that's my only issue with it but, mine is on a dedicated pistol so it's not a big problem. (feeds flawlessly, by the way)

    Be good.

I don't think the idea of conversion barrels is practical so much as just interesting. I have a .357 SIG barrel for my .40 cal P239. I got it, however, not because I felt like the 357 SIG was that much more effective than .40 cal, but just because I thought it was more "neat."

I agree with the premise that if you want one gun that shoots different ammo, just get a revolver. With a semi, I think you're better off just getting really hot .45acp ammo than bothering to convert to .400 Cor-Bon if you want something with practical application. But if you just want to be the guy who has a gun that shoots an obscure cartridge, that is a legitimate goal in and of itself.

Have you thought about a 460 Rowland? I don't know if you already own a 1911, but the 460 rowland can give you .44 magnum power out of one. All it takes is the drop in barrel/recoil spring and you're good to go.

If reloading the 400 Corbon from 45 ACP brass, would the pressure still have to remain under 21,000psi? I know +P brass can handle more, but I don't know how to pick those out my batch of cases. I could order some 45 Super cases though.

Can a G21 be converted to 10mm w/o changing the slide? I've read it can and can't.

Alligators. I think that is about it. Maybe a bigfoot. Who knows what lurks in the woods...

I think that Elk have come as far South as LA and MS, but don't quote me on that.
