As a business owner that talks to other business owners regularly this is my opinion why the recession continues and may even take a double dip according to experts. Our president and his administration have declared war on us. War in the form of taxes, regulation, and mandated healthcare. Presently I need another tech but have not hire one. We are working our butts off making the best with what we have. Why? I'm padding my business account for higher payroll taxes and don't know the extent mandated health care will have on my business. Other business owners I know have hunkered down like me and are not buying/expanding/or hiring due to the uncertainty. All of us (that I have talked to) feel the same. The president with his tax and spend policies has hindered our economic recovery. Say what you will about George Bush at least he knows the source of the federal goverments revenue. It appears Mr. Obama thinks the federal goverment creates the revenue of its own jobs. A year ago I went to an economic workshop and Loren Scott (former chairman of the Economics Department at LSU) gave a speech. At that time he said by now our economy would be on an up turn and recovering. He also predicted that would only happen if this administration did not do what they are now doing (creating uncertainty, raising taxes, and creating high federal deficites).
