I don't have any 77/22 barrels, but I know someone who has a takeoff that has a bulge somewhere down the bore (not noticeable from the outside) that was screwing up the accuracy. It is too far from the muzzle to cut and stay legal length, but if rockmup is doing what I'm thinking, it would work for him. It'll still shoot into a couple of inches at 50 yards.

It's a nice little barrel, fairly thin profile with no sites.

I had a stainless barrel off of a deluxe 10/20. I'm pretty sure that it was a 20" barrel.
I can't find this rifle cataloged. I think they may have been a run that was made strickly for Wally-World.
It was a walnut stock, alum. receiver, with the stainless barrel, that gave up it's life to the aftermarket gods.

It was a sweet little rifle that ended up as this:
