Apparently this group of friends were arguing about .45acp “knockdown power”. Instead of maybe getting a mannequin, some sand bags, or whatever else to simulate a human body they decided to do this…. All in the name of Science for us!

I hope they don't reproduce. At this rate though, I doubt they will.

I remember years ago that the owner of a vest mfg, 2nd Chance I think, would do that on different occasions to prove he stands behind his products. They used a .38 back then. I still wouldn’t do it, but it’s good to know they work.

That is some dumb **** right there. I have killed numerous deer with a 45 acp. Most have dropped in their tracks. All have had the bullet pass through.

If I remember correctly a round hit his vest at an upward angle and was bad news. Someone correct me if that was someone else.

Deliberately taking a round to the torso with BA on is just plain stupid. Things can happen, not to mention the trauma/bruising. I mean purely as a macho contest "Look at me, I'm a bad MFer" is just plain asinine. Darwin's Law/Natural Selection right there, and maybe really low IQ.

on the other hand, there is a difference in how much energy is delivered between different rounds. Differences in energy, penetration and wound cavity all come into play in stopping a threat.

They say Penetration is King and Expansion is Queen.
