LOL I know what they are I also know that the model 19's and their stainless steel counterparts have had issues usually at the 6' O'clock involving cracking I love these model S&W's and this is a great price for a user and I really would like a pic of the forcing cone.

The 66's were less prone to cracking due to the better heat dissapation of the stainless vs carbon steel, so I hear.......I also hear it takes a SERIOUS amount of light bullet shooting to cause potential damage.....

The forcing cone looks fine the few that had problems happen with people shooting light 357 magnum bullets.

I have seen cracked Forcing cones.

...Not saying after 3K rounds...

But it happens.


Hell, it's documented that the SEALS did it to their 66's...

I agree its not impossible, however it is fairly rare, especially in the 66 series, These days not to many folks can afford to put enough full house magnum loads down one to hurt it. Unless Uncle Sam is paying for the ammo.
