My Marine buddy just transferred to Meridian Miss and was going to order a couple of Sigs. He went to a local store and they told him he had to be registered resident or live there for 90 days. Does anyone know if there is a way around this. He wants to stay a resident of Fl b/c of taxes. He has to order the Sigs by the end of next month.

    Thanks
    Chow

different states have different laws in regards to non-residents purchasing firearms, iirc. how far is meridian from FL? maybe he can find an FFL close to the border in Florida...

I think what he was getting at is that if he's on duty active military he should be able to do the transfers. I could be wrong, though.

tell him to take his business elsewhere. i've done transfers in three states (SC, NC, and LA) while on active duty. i showed my drivers license (WV), military ID card, and a copy of my orders stating i was permanently stationed there.
