Length of pull was too long for daughter. Too pretty to cut so we got her a Ruger compact...This one is new, unfired, still in plastic and box. Savage 14 classic bolt. $600 firm. No trades please. P.S. I paid $600 for it at a gunshow. Found two of them on gunbroker this morning for $699 and $650, plus shipping. I have two daughters, and I kept searching for a gun that fit them, stock and recoil. Finally found the Ruger Compact in 6.8 SPC. Hard to beat it for kids.

???? So why not shorten the stock & put a thin rubber pad on it????

I agree, you can shorten the stock yourself or have a gunsmith do it for cheap,, that's a great and very accurate gun, plus easy for a kid to handle, also with the recoil pad get a limbsaver pad it'll make a worlds difference in recoil.

I purchased her a 6.8 Rem in Ruger Compact and she killed her first buck with it. I have a 250 Savage for myself already. No need for 2...(and found an unfired Rem 788 that I "need")
